Reiss suggests he is in pain and proposes that the injury could be affecting his performance. The curse of NE TEs....

It's my understanding that Gronkowski has been dealing with significant pain these last two weeks. He's listed on the injury report with a hip ailment, and we know of the back problems from his college days at Arizona. He had his snaps scaled back last week in the win over Buffalo (he had an uncharacteristic lost fumble in that game), and was limited throughout this past week in practice.

They could sit him when they play the jets and the doplhins.

Hope they limit his snaps. But I really hope they took him out of FG/PAT unit, I see no reason for him to be in there at all.

If he is that hurt sit him.

I see no reason to risk permanent damage for 1 win this year.

I think they'll be careful with him, but I don't think they can afford to sit him today, unless somehow Hernandez makes it back this week (which might be an even riskier proposition).

I hope he is alright. His career was pretty short at UofA due to his back issues.

I say sit him if he is that hurt. We can still score by pounding the rock.

Not exactly: NFL rules only require that you wait three years after HS graduation. The injury derailed his junior season, and he declared after that. Based on his first two seasons, it was pretty much a given that he was going to declare after his junior year.

GRONK is one of the reasons they're so effective at pounding it. . . .

Where are all these speculations coming from? How do you tell if someone is in serious pain without seeing his medical records? His drops were tough catches IMO, the fumble was also a tough play, there is nothing to indicate that they were a results of some severe pain that he can't bare.
I am not saying that he is not hurt or in pain, I am saying that you can't speculate the level of pain from the silly evidence these reporters are providing.

I'm so glad fells is healthy now. And a after the bye, lets hope shiancoe is healthy too.

Agree with this, sounds like Reiss is just trying to write a story and generate hits. Thought he was better than that. Is he suggesting this is the return of those severe back problems or just a new hip problem.

Hah, as I was typing this, breer just reported gronk has pain but the manageable kind. So just pick a report.

Gronk only played in 22 games during his 3 years as a cat. I am not bitter as some Wildcat fans, probably because I am a Pats fan too so I get to enjoy more of Gronk. I wish he could have helped us get to a Rose Bowl. Hopefully he can stay healthy in the league and help the Pats get more Lombardis.

maybe sit him next week if hernandez will be back

It's funny how I mentioned earlier this week that hip injuries are usually very tough injuries that linger, and I got reamed for it. I'm not coming close to suggesting that it's serious enough to threaten the guy's career, but I've seen hip injuries cause disruption to players' careers in the past. They're tough to get through.

sooner or later if he is still in pain he is going to have to sit...rather it be against the seahawks than jets...only becasue i want to see him light up the jets
