On a different note, what's with all the lockers still in the middle of the room??? Belichick sure looked awkward talking and having to walk back and forth from one side to the other...

That was on the road in Buffalo. It's an old stadium and their tiny lockerrooms are ancient.

Devin's got my support. I think other than a few blips (some big ones) here and there, I think he is having a very good season.

DOH.. Not sure where my head was at on that.. Reminding me it was in Buffalo makes perfect sense now. Any little thing to disrupt the opponent..

By what metric? Lol, he has been lucky not to have been worked like a cheap home all season long...a few good pd's here and there, but how many times had he been beat? Better yet, how many times had the receiver clearly beaten him?

A qualified qb torched him for three+ touchdowns instead of under throwing open receivers twice (both pics, go watch). I feel like he is a bomb that can go off at any time, good or bad.

pretty much confirms his struggles have been mostly confidence based, not necessarily skill based.

hearing that, and getting the picks, hopefully will get him back to rookie form (or better)

The coach/GM supports his player when there's a camera on?

Shocking development.

I'm honestly sort of surprised that BB would even acknowledge what the fans/media might think of a player.

Yeah, cause Bill Belichick is one to put on airs for the camera/microphone lol

Clueless. Unfortunately because of forum rules I have to respond with more than just that word.

Tennessee, Cardinals and, bar that final drive, Baltimore.

Also, you're clueless on that second pick. That takes a tremendous amount of ball skills to beat the receiver to undercutting that under thrown route.

Go watch every game again. Jesus.

Who? Flacco? the same guy who McCourty nearly picked twice that very same game?

As the OP stated all you need to do to see how one of the best coaches ever to play rates the guy is watch the video.

No way am I giving up on McCourty.

Yep. Part of Belichick's Hall of Fame intro will be: "He was famous for pumping up a disappointing player's tires, unprompted, for the cameras. That's just classic Bill."

The fact remains that BB has never bad mouthed one of his own players to the media.

Not even Ocho Stinko.

Leave Devin alone!

Great video on that show; I'll have to check it out more often. Loved seeing the field-level action, rapport among the players, Scar's sideline demeanor, etc. And even though it was a brief post-game exchange, Brady seems to be a fan of Bolden. (Yeah, I know .. 137 yards rushing will do that, but still.)

My take on the McCourty bit: No doubt BB was fully aware of the cameras when he said that and I'm reasonably confident he was in on the decision to leave it in the show. And no, he never talks down a player in public (unlike "player's coach" Rex Ryan). That said -- I don't think he pumps up a player like that, in front of the team, gratuitously.

I agreed that bit seemed odd. But "us against the world" has worked for BB before.

True, except that's not relevant here. It's not like he's staying silent. He went out of his way to back one of his players who he feels is being unfairly criticized by people who don't know jack s***.
