Tom Brady has a losing record to only 1 team in the entire NFL, and that's Denver.

His career record against them is 2-5 (3-6 if you include playoffs).

Of course, this year's edition of the Broncos bring about an old nemisis in Peyton Manning.

Should be a good game, hopefully Brady gets closer to .500 against them.

Just think his record was 1-5 until he beat the last year, and that win was the David Givens comeback catch in the final minute.

Denver has had his number, but if last year is any indication (Regular season and Playoff victories), the tide is turning.

IIRC his record against Fox is pretty good:cool:

Yep, that's more a Shanahan thing than a Denver thing. Then again, there was that one loss against McD in 2009, but that was 2009...

Well the Broncos better hope that defense has improved a ton. They weren't good enough in that playoff game to win even had they already had Manning.

Losses: 2001 (away), 2002 (home), 2005 (away), 2005 (away), 2006 (home), 2009 (away)
Wins: 2003 (away), 2011 (away), 2011 (home)

So at home, Brady is actually 1-2 against the Broncos. But look at that...6 of the 9 games were at Denver, which is known to be a pretty big homefield advantage. The losses can all be explained pretty well, too. 2001 was before the team figured it all out. They sucked (by Patriots standards) in 2002, 2005, and 2009. 2006...I don't even know what happened then.

But if you look at the seasons in which they were both a good Patriots team and played the Broncos, they're 3-1 in those games.

I know it's apples and oranges because the Broncos are completely different now, especially with Peyton, but I'm a sucker for statistics, and the statistics say this: If the Pats win this game, they're probably going to have a "good" season by our lofty standards, and if they lose, we could likely be in for another 2009-esque season.

Shanahan, the Altitude, and a young Champ Bailey. None will be in Foxboro this weekend, so I expect Brady's record to go to 3-5.

I believe they have.

They've made enough changes, new DC Jack Del Rio, and 7 new starters.

Plus Von Miller is healthy.

If you told me I had to put together a team to play against a BB coached Patriots squad, Shanahan would be my first choice to run the offense.
His scheme was a great matchup against our 2gap 34 concept. He understood how to attack BB better than anyone. Play action on 1st down after establishing the run killed us over and over and he knew when to go to the well, and when was too much better than anyone.

Don't forget Jake the Snake, damn that boot leg...

yea those years the words "denver broncos", "shanahan", and "bailey", and "plummer" spelled trouble

but as we can see thanks to elijah, we're on a 2game win streak...i think shanahan was the prime reason for our troubles in the past, not the team

i can't believe i actually hated facing jake plummer...

Trading D.Branch to Seattle in 2006 just before playing Broncos did not help Brady, either.

...

2003 .. wasn't that the intentional safety/punt game?

On the other end of the spectrum is the obnoxious Shannon Sharpe "Mr President . .we are killing the Patriots" schtick. Jerk.

It will be nice to see if we can finally win against a good team this season.

i would be more shocked at the fact of them losing 2 in a row at home..than not being able to beat denver

I think it's a little too early to look ahead to week 14, but seriously this will be like the other weeks where if the Pats win the Broncos are overrated and if they lose the Broncos are a good team...

that was a freakin TOUCHBACK!

Back in 2003, the Pats beat the Broncos in Denver with Brady hitting Givens on a back shoulder TD pass with little time left on the clock. Woody Paige wrote a column the day of the game basically saying that no matter how good the Pats were, they weren't beating the Broncos in Denver. Frankly, history was on his side. After the Pats won, I sent Woody an e-mail consisting of four words: "Nice column, you dink." Woody graciously responded via e-mail with a two word response: "F$%^ you." Nine years later I still have that e-mail and I honestly have a soft spot in my heart for Woody.
