Excerpt from Mike Rodak of ESPNBoston.com's Report on Brady's Wednesday News Conference:

"It's a great sport.

I love coming to work every day.

I love the challenge that the weeks bring, the mental challenge, the physical challenge.

I love the training.

I love being around my teammates.

It's just not much else out there, other than my family.

I think that's like the Abyss.

There's nothing else."

What a freaking Privilege to root for this guy.

Awesome. Rooting for this team isn't half bad either. I'm guessing with the current character in the locker room and all the kids coming in this is a pretty fun team to be a part of.

You have to love the guy. Though some of what he says wouldn't mean much if they weren't winning. I think one of his best aspects is the abbility to just plain focus on his role and constantly wanting to improve. There were a few times when he could have just quit and he always perservered.

But, hey that's other teams problems :).

Tom Brady is the leader of this team, both on the field and in the locker.

It's good to have Tedy Bruschi and Rodney Harrison types to add to the locker room leadership mix.

With the loss of some respected veterans like Matt Light, Brian Waters, and even Kevin Faulk, who do we suspect are the other locker room leaders.......

Vince Wilfork?
Wes Welker?
Logan Mankins?

Mayo comes first to mind

And this is why Tom Brady is my HERO:

He married a woman whom makes significantly more than him.

thats the difference between brady and sanchez.

Sanchez is at clubs hitting on 17 year old girls, Brady is spending time with his wife, his children, and his team.

Mayo, absolutely.

Wilfork and Mankins, no question.

Some guys on the roster who I think will emerge as Voices over the next year or two:

Brandon Spikes.

Donta HighTower.

Rob Gronkowski.

Nate Ebner
.

Of course, there is now a surfeit of young natural "Leaders" ~ I prefer "Voices", because I don't think real men need to be "led", but we can all always use some Inspiration ~ in that locker room.

Of course: who we Fans perceive as "Leaders" isn't necessarily who actually leads or inspires, which I believe you were alluding to, Brother Maverick.

Rooting for Brady isn't a privilege. 'Twas our birthright.

Years from now, if we're lucky, we'll be pinching ourselves wondering if we were really lucky enough to have lived through this NFL era. We'll be showing our grandkids pictures of this time. Our Tom will be considered one of, if not the best, QB's of all time. We're privileged, friends. Enjoy it while it lasts.
