Colder and rain for Sunday's game vs Manning and Broncos

Good. Manning is awful outside of a dome and one would suspect after four surgeries his arthritic neck probably stiffens up when a low front blows in. I hope his neck gets permanently stuck in the down position when he looks at his wrist to double check what idiotic play John Fox called that he's going to flap his arms and audible away from at the line of scrimmage.

I was wondering about this. Should be a good test for his arm strength. The colder it is the harder he will need to throw it.

Haven't had a sloppy weather game between these two since '05 playoffs. Any chance we get a cold spell sunday :D ?

Awesome. Love watching games affected by rain/snow.

As I've said before, the Patriots should convert Gillette into a domed stadium . . . so that it snows at every home game.

Cold & rain = severe neck bolt rust!

Just found out that I'm going. Bring on the rain, biznitches!

Run Run Run. Beat down the Denver D by running all over them and own time of possession. Nothing i would love more, aside from the win, than to see back to back weeks with 2 100 yard RB's.

hadnt happened in 20-30 years prior to that but its realistic to expect it twice in a row. I hope it happens too but would be happy with a hundred from one of em.

With Polian out of the league, there's never a better time :D . I wonder if you could do a Qwest Field set up and still have the snow come down and blow all over the place.

Hold on to that ball running backs!!

Manning Career splits

Indoors: 112 games, 98.3 QBR, 231:102 TD:INT ratio.
Outdoors: 100 games, 91.4 QBR, 176:99 ratio
Precipitation: 8 games, 83.8 QBR, 11:10 ratio
Windy: 30 games, 82.8 QBR, 41:31 ratio
Temp 41-60 31 games: 85.8 QBR, 51:37 ratio

Brady Career splits

Indoors: 14 games, 103.1 QBR, 29:13 ratio
Outdoors: 151 games, 96 QBR, 278:103 ratio
Precipitation: 13 games, 94.2 QBR, 18:5 ratio
Windy: 58 games, 98.4 QBR, 113:35 ratio
Temp 41-60: 49 games, 97.6 QBR, 91:30 ratio

And that doesn't cover the post season where Manning has been awful outside and in bad conditions and Brady has for the most part been great. Major advantage Patriots.

Bedard made an interesting case for Manning having to become Chad Pennington in recreating himself. I think it's a valid argument. He know longer has his fastball and need to win with smarts. Throw in wind and rain and it makes those floaters worse.

I just MIGHT be going to my first Patriot's game in 30 years. Gonna be up in Boston this weekend (coming up Friday, leaving Monday), and since I'm turning 50 on Friday, I would not be surprised if my family got me tickets for my birthday. They have a habit of surprising me on big birthdays. If that indeed happens, it's going to be the best surprise ever. Have never been to Gillette, but believe me guys and gals, you want me there, the only times I've been to Patriot's games, the Pats won big ! Saw them demolish the Jets 56-3 in September 1979, then saw them beat the Jets in 1983, I think it was 34-21 or something. Ahh, good old Schaefer Stadium.

And now you know the main reason Manning's stats look(ed) better than Brady's.

Brady outdoors > Manning outdoors
Brady indoors > Manning indoors

The only problem is that QBs indoors > QBs outdoors in general, so that vast difference helped Manning.

And the funny thing is you do Brees and it's much worse than Peyton.

I'm probably alone in wanting to see how our defense reacts to Peyton Manning in ideal passing conditions.

Manning is only better than Brady in volume stats. He's worse in passer rating, INT%, TD%, TD/INT ratio. Really, pick any parameter of comparison and Tom comes up on top.

.

So 14 games indoors. I had to challenge myself to see if I could recall the games, I think I have them.
