Miami Dolphins sign WR Jabar Gaffney

That's too bad. I was hoping he would come back at some point, though if Edelman can get healthy, he seems to be holding his own as well. Would have been nice depth though, especially since Branch has been too involved yet since his return.

A needed upgrade for Miami if he's healthy. Somewhat perplexed that the Pats obviously believe
The Twig > The Hut especially given Branch's return to late 2011 season production. I do believe that it's Branch over Gaffney or whomever because BB is humoring Brady on this minor staffing issue.

Like they need another WR with Brian Hartline playing out of his mind. Sure wished he had signed him over Branch who looks just about done.

Wish we got him over branch...really no need for branch other than depth...has done nothing and looks so dam slow

So much for that poster who told us that he had an impeccable source that Gaffney was re-signing with the Pats very soon.

I am surprised the Jets didn't try to pounce on him now that it looks like Holmes is done for the season. The problem for the Jets is they really don't want to use the unused cap dollars they have this year because they are really going to need them next year just to get any cap flexibility.

I disagree. Word was that Gaffney just didn't show much during training camp before he got injured. I think the Pats just soured on him.

Icy just got frozen out.

Jets have many vet trash heap WRs and TEs they could sign and try to get SOMETHING out of but their stubborn philosophy and perhaps cap as you cite prevents giving Sanchez any help, a shame because lack of skill supporting cast can rationally be used as an excuse for the LOSAH!

Man I wish the Patriots kept him and didn't get Branch back.

What did anyone see from Gaffney that makes them wish he was here instead of Branch? I didn't see anything from him.

His play last season was superior to Branch's. Unfortunately, that seems to be about it.

Well, if having a good 2011 season was the only requirement than Andre Carter and Mark Anderson would still be on this team.

This idea we should have taken him instead of Branch is sort of funny. Prevailing thought when we cut both was that both wanted back so we likely had our chice between the two and chose to go with Branch. Maybe timing had something to do with it as persumably we needed a healthy body with Hern out and maybe we couldnt wait two more weeks for Gaffney.

Also I have mentioned this at least twice once during preseason and once in yesterdays thread (that rumor was Gaffney would be back here) and take it for what its worth but my layman opinion in TC and Preseason was that Branch looked better then Gaffney.

I think in the end either is more then suffice for the 5th or 6th option on this team and it isnt worth much more debate.

Well, shouldn't they still be on this team (money aside, which you ignored as well)?

Tannehill played his heart out last week but made a mistake in OT and it cost them the game, they could use a WR like Gaffney to help out.

Best of luck to Jabar in Miami

Good because I expected to see him playing for the Jets who are probably worse off at WR right now.

The Jets are still more competition for the AFC East than the Dolphins, imo, and even if they weren't I hate seeing players I like suit up for them.

Negative!

The Miami Dolphins at least have shown heart while the NY Jets are starting to unravel.

I dont agree that the Jets are more competition than the Dolphins. I could certainly be wrong but thw writing is on the wall for an epic Jet collapse and the Dolphins have looked better then I expected so far this year.

I do agree I hate seeing players on the Jets but to be fair when things are going good for the Dolphins I generally hate them playing there too.

Agreed with your 1st part about him not playing for Jets.
Disagree on 2nd about Jets being competitive with anyone at this point. Their team is in disarray, QB issues, WR issues, No Revis etc etc etc. Phins running game has improved, QB is better than Sanchez at this point and their offense has more weapons.
