The rage right now is over what Salisbury said about Peyton's leading the comeback. There seems to be a argument over what his actual words were.

We'll nip, we'll tuck, we'll go, we'll punch, we'll CHEW or JEW???, we'll do it all. And they nickel-and-dimed it and Peyton made the plays when it mattered all through the second half."

I think he meant to say chew, but it came out wrong. Listen for yourself.

sounds like he said jew, and that he meant to say jew...must be a term he has used before

i hope your wrong because that is rather disrespectful.

I believe what he said was, "I was a slightly better NFL quarterback than Billick and Dungy, but now they're NFL head coaches, and I'm a drunken buffoon, but less so than Lobel."

this is salisbury right? the guy who had a pic of his **** on his cellphone and was suspended by espn for it? he's not the brightest person on earth. just another dumb ex player on tv. wait till TO has a job in tv

wooooooo
im jewish and i take offense if he said that
i guess hes jus jealous of our success (a la robert kraft, 90 percent of hollywood etc)

must be a mel gibson lover

i actually have decided to never watch any mel gibson movie since i saw the passion
theres a scene at the end that portrays all us jews going to hell....and what did he blow, like a .08? hes an alcoholic, a .08 isnt even close to buzzed for an alcholic, so dont blame it on the booze

yup he is one in the same

Neither word makes any sense in that context.

. . . who cares. I guess the PC crowd does - I don't.

That makes no sense. What exactly does a defensive player do when he tries to "jew" the opponent? Answer me that and I'll buy it

Sean didn't misspeak. In some circles "Jew" means to stiff somebody (i.e.- not paying a resturant bill). I'm not the most PC guy on the planet but I refrain from using anti-semetic comments.

He could have meant to say "juke" but he sure as hell says "jew." Unbelievable if that's what he really meant. On top sending a picture of his privates to female co-workers, I nominate Sean Sailsbury for employee of the year.

He said "jew" but he may have meant something else.

Wouldn't go near that one with a 10-foot pole. :D

Well if Salisbury did say that, it's wrong but in my opinion what Rosie O'Donnell said was far worse and she still has her job.

He said "nickel and dimed" after it. That's the context. Think about it.

But chew works too, as the words before seem to portray a desparate struggle, and chew is like bite... so I guess it could be either. I think he said chew and he was just flying off the cuff so fast that it came out wrong. I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, stuff like that happens.

Saying nickel and dimed before it implies that "jew" means slowly come back one yard at a time instead of trying to get it all at once? I'm jewish too, but it didn't take this comment for me to say Salisbury shouldn't have a job and should go f*ck himself.

Chew makes a lot more sense to me in context.

The nickle-and-dimed is the only thing that gives me pause, but chew really seems much more likely.

I think he was trying to convey clawing and scratching, and chew is the word that came to mind. Weird but seemingly more likely to me.

Neither word makes any sense in that context.

It makes sense when you realize he quickly got off it and immediatetly said nickel and dimed.

He said jew, and he meant it.
