Would you give a number 1 pick for Moss??

Would you give one of the number 1 picks for Moss.. ?? We need 1 maybee 2 wr , Moss might fit the bill here for 2 to 3 yrs, but is he worth a number 1 pick??

I would target 2 wr Drew Bennet and Wes Walker, and maybee draft 1 in the second and third round.. Focus on LB and saftey help with the two picks..

A true top-10 receiver doesn't make a ton of sense under the current system. (After all--who's Brady's favorite receiver?)

But, to answer your specific question: only if you could clone Troy Brown's brain and give Moss a transplant.

i seem to recall troy brown having 101 catches in 01
and didnt brady have his best game his first yr when terry glenn played against the chargers

but, still i dont want moss
at least not for a first, no way

People seem to forget his cap number. I'm not sure what it is but I will safely say it's a pretty good penny and not worth destroying your salary cap over.

no thanks....this team is build on character players who for the most part buy into BB's system, and have a genuine love for football. Moss doesn't fit here.

I wouldn't take Moss for more than a second day pick for a number of reasons:

• His age. He turns 30 in a couple of weeks. That isn't incredibly old, but you might only get another two years out of him.

• His injury history. He has been hurt consistently for each of the last three or four years.

• He hasn't been all that productive the last three years. He has had 2325 yards over the last three years and only 11 TDs over the last two. I don't know if he is anywhere near the elite WR he once was.

• His attitude. He doesn't try when the ball isn't getting thrown his way. Brady likes to go through his progressions so he could get the ball even as the #2 or #3 option on a play, but would he try to be there. Also, he won't block. He quit on his team this year. All major issues.

• He doesn't run great routes. All he has had to do most of his career is just go deep. The Pats will need him to do presnap route adjustments and run percise routes which isn't his forte.

• Our offense tends to work better with small fast receivers. Randy Moss is (or was) fast, but he is too big to run the routes the Pats like to run. That is one of the rumored reasons why Gabriel didn't work out.

No thanks. I think I will pass. Personally, I would rather have Drew Bennett or Kevin Curtis over Moss.

Unless he redid his deal, Moss signed w/Oakland for 75M for 8 years, including an $18M signing bonus. I read these numbers earlier looking up WR stats elsewhere. I could see where he'd be unhappy.

In cap terms, Gaffney cost us in the neighborhood of $400K, Caldwell about $900K, and Troy $1.5M. The dear departed Branch shocked us by accepting a deal that gave him $39M over six years.

Get over it guys. We aren't pumping that kind of money into a superstar wideout. We might make a run into the high value middle class of wideouts; But look where we ended up with "no receivers": Our QB ended up throwing 24 TDs anyway.

Yes, we want an upgrade in talent. But a spending frenzy is not the answer.

Finally a voice of reason. I fail to understand why anyone would want to trade one of our prime picks for Moss.

It is highly questionable whether BB/SP would ever want him at all.
