Does any one knows, what happened with Ras-I. This guy should play over Arrington.

So you don't know what's going on with him, but you do know that he should start over Arrington?

BB get over here and hire this guy!!!!

No, he shouldn't be playing over anyone. Go back and watch him in games this year, the guy can't move well at all right now. Those hip surgeries are still either hobbling him up or have completely robbed him of his athleticism for good.

Chung and Arrington are the worst starters for the Patriots right now. However, I think the coaches are making the right call with Dowling. Don't be misled by his size, speed, and athleticism. He can't swivel the hips very well at all.

The wrong call, obviously, was drafting him the first guy in the second round a couple of years ago when other guys were there. I am not going to mention Torrey Smith's name, either.

I am wondering what the Patriots would be like if Mark Barron could be put on this team. I know he was out of reach, but he's a difference maker at a position the Patriots desperately need such a player.

I heard he changed his name to Ras-I Dowhat-the-****?

In my untrained eye he looked stiff and showed poor technique, maybe if he can grow a sack then he could convert to a Safety/CB hybrid.

It's too bad about this guy - I, for one, had high hopes for him.

Moore has secured the #3 CB spot with solid play. That leaves Dowling as the dimeback, and we rarely run dime.

I'm always amazed that after a huge comeback victory, these things pop into fans heads.:idontgetit:

Honestly both of the Pats picks in round 2 of the 2011 draft look pretty lackluster right now. Wish we could have traded out of the Dowling pick but apparently we didn't get any good offers. Vereen has also disappointed. I thought he would have at least made an impact in the kick return game, but not so thus far. Thank goodness we seemed to strike gold with Ridley. And he was one of the most criticized picks of the draft!!

They are saving him for the playoffs .. him and vareen are the 2 weapons for the post season.

My homer brother, that wasn't a comeback victory--that was a comeback tsunami!

Go Pats!

Maybe next week with Manning in town we'll see more of Dowling, whom I had high hopes for--as long as he stayed healthy.

Ras-I is our #4 corner and our dime back. He was injured as a rookie and is now behind Moore in his second year. How much should we expect from a 2nd year corner who missed his entire rookie season?

I think that Ras-I is a reasonable quality dime back.

That being said, I think that we will need much better play from our secondary to advance far into the playoffs.

Does it make a difference?

I really hope that Dowling's hip issues don't haunt him for his career, looks like he is still not 100%. At the beginning of last year he showed potential to be a #1 CB.

Honestly... i just think he hasn't been healthy after that hip. He seems a bit more ridgid then his 1st 2 games as a rookie.

I have high hopes for him hope he gets 100% soon. A tall man corner could really help this D.

Today was the 6th game Dowling was active for in his career. He is still working out his health issues and learning the NFL game at the same time. I don't think its anything more then that.

Hip injuries can take a while. Colvin injured his early 2003 and IIRC he wasn't too effective until the latter part of 2004.

I'll give the guy a pass until next season then if he's not a starting corner by then probably time to give up.

Hope you guys are right about the hip, but as of now I'd say Ras I Dowling is the most INEXCUSABLY awful, horrible no-good bust of a high round pick Bill Belichick has made during his tenure in New England. They had ALL NIGHT to either trade that incredibly valuable draft pick or come up with THE guy they wanted. THE guy they wanted is a piece of Jose Offerman-level JUNK right now. Like I said, inexcusable. (But I'm grateful for all the other good decisions and for today's terrific demolition in Buffalo.)
