Patriots rule out Julian Edelman, Gronkowski questionable | ProFootballTalk
The Patriots won’t have to answer any questions about the way they are splitting time between Julian Edelman and Wes Welker this weekend.

Edelman has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Bills as a result of the hand injury that’s kept him out of practice all week. That leaves the Patriots with Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Deion Branch and special teams ace Matthew Slater at wideout.

Guard Logan Mankins, who missed practice all week, is also questionable with a hip injury. Right tackle Sebastian Vollmer carries the same designation as a result of his back injury.

So if Gronk can't go we're looking at a TE lineup of Fells and Hoohoo?

What worse, this is a must win game. 1-3 is a big hole. Have to get back to .500 and put together a winning streak. Looks like more work for Wes, Lloyd and Deion. Regardless if Gronk plays or not, the Bills are just gonna double cover him and makes him a nonfactor since Hernandez is still out. Running game has to come alive this Sunday.

we do have a running game....... although not the best but better than most out there.

Looks like Welker's in for a 20 catch game.

Amazingly, he's the only middle-of-the-field receiver left, other than Woodhead.

And the blocking is questionable vs. the Bills' pass rush. Yeah, your estimate may be only a little hyperbolic.

wasn't Lloyd questionable last week? he seemed to fair well:cool:

And we were questioning why the love for so many TEs on the roster???

Belichick apparently is prolific and knew injuries were going to be a factor

c'mon with this hysteria....Gronk "limited" on a Friday practice is some mystery with "real real bad!!!!!" implications??

is there like some kind of mass memory loss associated with this site or what?since when is THIS news in the BB era???

keep looking for pieces of the sky....jeezus

We might see Salas and Jerimiah Warren or Austin.

Has the roster been filled from Forsten and Winslow?

Jabar Gaffney, please, and thank you.

Edelman is missing games for the 4th consecutive year of a 4 year career. I'm starting to wonder if BB is really drafting from Swarovski's.

Starting to wonder? I think it's pretty clear by your posts concerning BB that you've already made up your mind on the matter. :)

I'm talking about the team's seemingly high injury count, which is factual and historical, and Edelman's unfortunate inability to play a full season to this point in his career. What does that really have to with BB, other than the joke about crystal that was obviously a joke?

For one reason or another, this team tends to have lousy luck with injuries and games lost to injuries.

Part of that perhaps, is that every team -the Ravens being at the top of the list, play the Patriots like it's their Superbowl.

Which means everything is harder, faster with a helluva lot more energy to every aspect of the game.

Not all, but its part of the whole equation.
