Looking back at the past 12 years,I see a few notable players who played just 1 season here.

Which player do you think made the most of his 1 season here and was the most productive?

Some that come to mind as likely possibilities are Ted Washington,Andre Carter,Brian Waters and Keith 'tractor' Traylor.

Who would you choose?

I choose Ted Washington

NO ONE ran up the middle in 2003 when Ted was here and it caused opposing offenses to abandon the run.

Waters. He was the best guard in the NFL last year.

I'm having trouble remembering a play where he screwed up.

Now that I think about it, Pats got real lucky last year. Picked up an All-Pro guard and 2- 10 sack DEs.

But with that said, I'd say Mt. Washington is #2. No one ran on that defense. No one.

I'll go with Ted Washington too. I thought he would be missed after that one year, but then we picked this guy named Wilfork, with Traylor to show him the ropes on occasion.

Ted Washington was a different dude though. He didn't push the line back like Vince does, but nobody moved him, even with a double team, and he shed blockers to make tackles in his neighborhood like me swatting mosquitos at a cookout. He was about out of gas after that year I guess.

Probably Ted Washington. Who wins worse player to play here for a season? Deltha O'Neal?

Ted Washington. End of discussion.

bryan cox........maybe not for the whole season, but the hit he put one jerome pathon to me comes as close to being the single point in time where this team pretty much started its 'sherman's march to the sea'

The OchoCinco/Fat Albert Haynesworth combo last year certainly didn't set the world on fire

Tie between Washington and Waters. Don't see how you can put one over the other, they both played at the highest elite level at their positions.

.....its Starks and its not close

I remember the very first game he was in.......he was so bad, it was hard to believe........brown was just old, biesel was still ok somewhere else......both were placed in the impossible situation of trying to do bruschi's job

starks was just horrible..........you have to eremember that the pats had a fair amount of expectation from him

guys like ocho and haynesworth came with red flags

Ocho and Fat Al were horrid but Starks was so bad that he gave up big pass plays like he had a bet on the opposing team.

I still believe today that, that team was Brady's finest year as a QB who brought a team full of holes to the playoffs on his back....that 2005 team was not very good but still made it to the divisional round.

I do.....I'd put waters ahead of washington.

partly because as good as washington was, he was out for 6 weeks, and over those 6 weeks, the defense did not skip a beat.

partly because of how much the OL misses waters because he's gone

For worst player, I'd just like to cast my vote for Joey Galloway.

Man, that guy sucked.

Re: Belichick Era (so far) - Who was the best player to have played just 1 season he

I'll go with Washington as well. Waters 2nd.

For a less noticable player that I really liked : Alge Crumpler. I believe he had an immense impact on Gronk and AH in their rookie season. Plus he played everywhere, ST, offense, blocking all over.

Chad Brown or Monty Beisel

Best: Ted Washington / Brian Waters

Worst: Galloway / Delta O'neil
