Wow! I didn't figure Winslow would want out since no one wants him. I doubted Hernandez would be back on the field for at least a few more weeks even after today's news, but maybe he will be.

Just as likely has more to do with usage going forward even in the short term. May mean Fells is finally ready to go and Winslow wasn't going to be a Hernandez replacement worth using. Think team knows two TE is limited until Hernandez is back. 3 WR will be the interim. He and Brady spent a lot of time working on timing last week and it didn't yield much. Time better spent on game plan. Probably wasn't going to be featured here and he and Rosenhaus may have decided to bail on mininmum deal before he got the Ocho label. Good business decision.

I would presume that it's way too soon for Aaron Hernandez to return, and Andre Carter has signed elsewhere.

Another back end of the roster guy like Alex Silvestro would be my guess.

Interesting that he asked for the release. I wonder if he just didn't like how they were planning to use him? Or maybe he was having the same problem Ocho was having, and didn't see the point in busting his ass to learn system when we might have been gone after a few weeks anyway.

Didn't like the signing (the person) to begin with, so I'm happy to see this. I hope he's filing retirement papers after his requested release otherwise my already low opinion of him goes even lower.

Good point, minor brain lock regarding Hernandez. I guess I was thinking about his being able to play, but as someone else pointed out it may be an indication that Fells is ready to play ... and another roster spot would be open regardless.

They had contacted Chris Cooley before signing Winslow, so maybe him. Maybe Salas from the PS, if Forsten clears waivers he can take his spot.
