Big Game vs Bills this Sunday

Yeah, unless the refs do their best to screw us in this game too, I'll actually be kinda worried if we don't win this by at least 14. Not saying I'd complain but this is one we should win handily especially if Jackson isn't back to full strength.

The Patriots have some say over whether or not the bumbling officiating holds sway over whether they win or lose. They just need to execute at the highest level possible.

Calling this a must-win is an understatement. We cannot go to 1-3 and 0-1 in the division. I don't care how much better we are then the rest of the division - and we are - but that is not a hole any team wants to be in.

Failure is not an option.

I don't get any sense that I can predict what will happen in this game, because it may very well come down to who the refs decide to screw over. The Pats are clearly the better team, for whatever that's worth, but these last couple weeks that hasn't always been worth much.

The Pats have a better QB & coach, but I'm not sure they have the better team overall. The Bills have an edge in the trenches on both sides, and a better running game overall. The Pats have better receivers & TE's. The secondaries are pretty comparable.

If the Pats lose this one, especially by a large margin then that could be an indication of a changing of the guard in the AFC East and Buffalo takes over at least for that time.

This game is a statement game by one of these teams

I think the Pats should pull this one out,but I don't anticipate a rout.

AFCE standings

2011
NE - 13-3
NYJ - 8-8
Mia - 6-10
Buf - 6-10

2010
NE - 14-2
NYJ - 11-5
Mia - 7-9
Buf - 4-12

2009
NE - 10-6
NYJ - 9-7
Mia - 7-9
Buf - 6-10

So for the last 3 seasons, only once as another team besides NE won 10+ games (2010 NYJ). Prior to that, here were the teams to win 10+ besides NE:

2008, Mia - 11-5
2006, NYJ - 10-6
2004, NYJ - 10-6
2003, Mia - 10-6

So since 2002, only 5 non-New England AFCE teams have won 10+ games. Five. In 30 opportunities (10 seasons x 3 teams).

Here's why I post this: Because I think an 11-5 record wins the division for NE, and there's a very, very good chance that a 10-6 record wins it as well. If the Pats just take care of business within the division, they'll be just fine. Even if they lose to Buffalo this week, they're not quite "fine", but they still can win the division.

The team is pissed off, coming off of back to back losses, playing a game which could ultimately decide the division supremecy and, hence, a trip into the playoffs. This has all the makings of a multiple score blowout.

They maybe pissed off and all but this is a big game for buffalo too and at home they are very tough . We saw last yr what happened. Fitzpatrick can certainly throw on our secondary and their oline has been solid this yr combined with our lack of pass rush. Conversely their D front is worrisome vs our oline. Going to be close game .

I would bet the house that a 10-6 will win the AFC Least.....I also think its highly likely that the Pats finish 10-6 or 11-5 and will be the 3rd or 4th seed,Kansas City or San Diego will decide one of those 2 spots.

A lot of champions lately didn't get a week off, thats fine by me

The Texans are winning 14 or 15 games, book it

if the jets beat the 49ers this week that could be a big deal in the AFC East and I can see them doing it. If jets and bills both win with jets having tie breaker over the bills at 3-1 , we could be in serious trouble.

I still think the Pats can get on a major roll, but at the moment, put me down for a revised prediction of 11-5, winning the AFC East.

1. Hou, 14-2
2. Bal, 12-4
3. NE, 11-5
4. Den, 9-7 (yes, I still think they'll win that division)
5. Pit, 10-6 (I think they'll rebound)
6. who knows

So I will predict the Pats have to go right back to Baltimore to play in the AFC semifinal. That should be a very, very tough game. I'd love for them to somehow get the 2 seed....... (and no, I'm not ruling out the #1 seed yet, either. If they can go 12-4 or 13-3 and knock off Houston in the process, they have a chance)

I don't see the Jets beating SF without their best player, Revis. The 49ers D will lock down the Jets' offense, and without Revis, I don't think they hold SF under 20 points. SF wins, 20-13.

I know it's only week 4 and i never say these early games are must wins..but this is close...and the reason i say that is becasue we have denver then have to go to seattle where i think the pats may get crushed...they NEED this win..bad

only if the SF defense misses the plane

Given what Seattle's defense did to Aaron Rodgers (all those sacks) and given what the Pats' OL has done (trouble protecting Brady), I worry about #12s health in that game.

I can't see the Pats getting crushed by Seattle either. Manning doesn't look good and Denver's defense is the spinach to Brady's Popeye.

Up 21-7 Brady spotted the Bills 24 points just to make things interesting?

This is precisely why BB has Mallett on the team.
After 3 qtrs of vicious sacks, BB brings in TFB who bombs away over the SeaHags exhausted front 7 for the comeback win, 17-14.

GB may have had some of the worst play calling I have ever seen. They continuously were dropping back trying to throw it downfield. It was obvious all they needed to do was run it. Once they brought in the TEs and Backs they started to move the ball.

If christian ponder can beat them so can the jets who have a better defense. And patrick willis is injured i think. I wont be surprised if the jets win and it can really galvanize their team.

I expect the pats to be much better prepared and adjust than what GB did last night.

Does anyone else notice how the O-line didn't play half bad overall Sunday night?? It did help that Vollmer and Connolly were back.
