But not both... who would you take?

BB he is the architect, nothing against TB.. but BB was here before and will in all likelihood be here after. With that being said, this is something like a chicken and egg argument.

It'd have to be BB. For a great many reasons, not the least of which is that TB is only ever one missed Heath Evans blocking assignment away from IR. Unless the whole Borges thing gets violent, we probably don't need to worry too much about BB's health for a while.

I guess I agree too.

I think it comes down to the head coach position being more important than the quarterback position, no matter how brilliant the QB is.

That said, I find it *really* difficult to make a post saying that I'd take someone on my team over Tom Brady.

No contest!
BB is the keystone to the team building. No disrespect to Brady but definitely Bill first.

I love TB, but it's BB hands down. Besides if TB had to deal with someone like **** McPhearson, he'd leave anyway!

I refuse to answer this on the basis of the question itself being sacrilege.

What if it was a dwarf version of BB vs the rest of the NFL? Da BB! :singing:

Everyone is going to say BB, and they may be right, but it's at least worth nothing that BB hadn't done anything as a head coach until TB strolled onto the scene (and/or Drew Bledsoe strolled out?).

A question soooooooooooo easy, even a Jests fan could get it right. :p

===================================

I should know, after what was it 7 straight loses.

For whatever reasaons (salary cap?) the NFL is a coaches league, Coaching is what makes the biggest impact on wether a team will be succesful or not.

I'd take Brady. For all his "team-building," Belichick would never have won a Super Bowl with Bledsoe. Brady is one of the top 2 quarterbacks in the game with Manning. He's the kind of guy you tell your kids you got to watch in his prime. Belichick is just a coach. A great one, but he doesn't play on the field.

Learn your history, child. Belichick took a horrible Browns team to an 11-5 record and beat the Pats in the playoffs. Then, his owner pulled the rug out from under him and screwed his chances of success by moving the Browns to Baltimore to become the Ravens.

I take Belichick over Brady NO QUESTION. Tom is nice, but Belichick made him great. If Belichick hadn't found Tom, I am pretty sure he would have found a good quarterback (in the Phil Simms mold) to build a championship team.

Not to break copyright or anything but...

"I was leaving late one night, and this tall skinny kid approached me holding a pizza box. I said, "I know who you are; you're Tom Brady, sixth-round pick from Michigan," and he replied, 'and I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.' I was stunned. The amazing thing is he didn't say it to be arrogant...he was sincere...I went home and told everyone about it." - Bob Kraft
(Thanks for the quote Mav!:D )

This team got to the Super Bowl before BB. But we didn't win it until Brady.
Look at Super Bowl 36... "protect the ball." "Eff that, just sling it down there!"
BB wasn't going to win with Bleed-slow.

BB, because he runs the ship. The Patriots give out contracts to the right guys, don't pay the wrong guys, value draft picks and draft well, value depth more than any other team, don't put up with prima-donnas and headcases, don't make bad long-term decisions for short-term gains, etc, etc.

Also, with BB we don't run the risk of season or career-ending injury.

Let's not confuse the issue here. It's not "Would you rather have Belichick/Bledsoe, OR Brady?" It's just Belichick or Brady. :)

..I don't know, one of those hugs from Mangini may be just a bit too much of a squeeze and boom, ruptured spleen! :)
