Except for Hochuli.

I hate him.

Except for Hochuli.

I hate him.

He royally screwed up that San Diego-Denver call in 2008 and said afterwards "Affecting the outcome of a game is a devastating feeling. Officials strive for perfection – I failed miserably."

Overall though there is a reason why every poll of coaches or players put him near the top. He's consistently good, though of course human.

The NFL isn't changing anything until it hits them in the wallet. Fans aren't going to miss their own team playing however if every fan boycotted all the other games until the real refs are back I bet things would move a lot faster. Even that solution is unlikely to happen and hard to organize but if it could happen the gap between the sides would suddenly move.

See this is the thing that really annoys me. Its not as if the NFL owners are the ones who are paying for the refs. Like any good business the costs of doing business are factored into the sale prices. So what the owners are really fighting for is they dont want to have to find a way to cover the rising cost of refs or more accurately they are trying to cover rising costs in another area by taking benefits away from the refs. If the owners win great they found the money they were looking to get back if they lose oh well they will find it somewhere else to recoup the money (likely raising ticket prices or merchandise). And I dont fault them for that, they are in it to make money and business would look for ways to keep profits from going down.

What I do fault them for is basically in order for them not to have to recoup this money directly from us by raising costs which would obviously piss us fans off they have decided to try and get it elsewhere which creates a crappier product and inturn pisses us off. So to not piss us off on price they have instead made the product worse and pissed us off anyway.

The fans need to cut eye holes in bags like these and wear them on their heads.

Fans have little power in this fight, short of boycotting the games, and honestly, who's going to do that? I'm certainly not.

It would be cool if fans could somehow organize to (a) not buy ANY NFL merchandise until the strike is resolved, and (b) watch all NFL games via pirate sources. That would definitely send a message right to the owners' wallets. Good luck organizing all the fans with this, though.

Yeah there is no way you could organize a boycott of the games. The NFL knows that fans will show up to the games no matter what.

However the Fans can hit back in another way. I say we spread the word about boycotting all concessions at all NFL Games until the real refs return. Hit the owners in the pocket book and this replacement ref issue will be solved in days.

We Want Real Refs
