Brady talks to Baltimore media - Brockton, MA - The Enterprise

Man.....there is not a single sentence where he speaks ill of the ravens...
You got to wonder why people hate him (other than the rings/good looks/wife factor)

If i were a Jets fan (which thank GOD I AM NOT) ... i would pray that the coach and team were this dignified in their interviews.............

People hate him because some media members ballwash him. And the things you mention. It's all related.

Mediots ballwash P Manning too...but i haven't seen the same level of hate for Manning as for Brady........... Even with the debacle against the falcons people aren't turning on Manning . God forbid if Brady were to have such a game.

I think Brady has always had that underdog story in his background, where people get tired of hearing how great he is because they have no idea where he came from. Manning, on the other hand, is expected to be great due to where he was drafted, so there's less "shame" in losing to him.

Actually this makes a lot of sense :rocker: ....

I do think part of the hate is down to the New york Boston thing.
a lot of the media is based in New York so therefore they have an inbuilt animosity towards anything NE.

Just a theory.

A very sound theory. Can't underestimate how much this plays into so much of the "national" media. It even plays out beyond the headlining media "stars," right down to the worker bees. This week NFL.com had a headline that a record-setting number of teams were 1-1, "including Patriots." And the Pats weren't even mentioned in the story.

Speaking specifically on Brady, a lot of it is envy. I mean, the success, the rings, the wife, the looks, the "metro sexual thing." Let's put it this way: Can you imagine what posters here would say about him if (heaven forbid) he played for another team?

Like Brady's father tells him, tall trees get high winds.

I find it funny that so much is made of how Brady dresses but not one word is said about Cam Newton.

Manning is quite media savvy from his dad to himself and everything he postures himself and has some media member like mort in his pocket so he knows how the play the game. Brady does too but doesnt go out of the way to do interviews and be media friendly .

While there are others factors involved in what degree a player will get picked apart, one thing for sure is the newness of Cam Newton. Given time, enough INTs and enough losses Cam will start to get picked apart to some degree. Just comes with the territory when you are a starting NFL QB......

A) The Patriots win a lot -- probably more than anyone
B) The coach, BB, is considered to be (and appears to be from pressers) unlikable
C) They were branded as cheaters
D) The media is very disproportionately NY based (viscerally anti Boston teams)
E) The Patriots are considered by the media to be unfriendly to them
F) Tom left his child's mom for a super model and has characteristics that make him look like the stereotypical over entitled High School star QB who is usually not a likeable character
G) Both TB and BB are given accolade after accolade after accolade (at least they used to).

For the throngs of irrational NFL fans and TV watchers/masses who love to figure things out with snap judgments based on left side brain function, that is a big enough list to hit home with a large cross section (and the media, due to their own reasons, are more than happy to oblige that)

Good job. That pretty much covers it. I remember flying back from Ft. Myers, FL the day after the playoff loss to Balt. I was having a beer at the airport bar and ESPN was all over the game stories and the bartender told the whole bar how Brady left BM for GB after fathering multiple kids with BM. The people in the packed bar were all nodding their heads believing every word. I was just about to go off like Mt. Vesuvius when my wife grabbed my arm and said, "Don't do it." I finished my beer and left.

I'll take C for 100 alex.
Seriously though, people need to remember who it was that BB screwed over to come to NE....You REALLY think they forgot about that?!
They will never forget and they are a very entitlement minded fan base.
I remember how mad they were when the red sox finally beat the Yankees to get to the WS. You'd think they would be like...oh well...good job guys you finally got one on us... but no....they were so po'd.
This is their mind set.

Winning 3 super bowls and going to 5 has something to do with too. I remember after they won the first one I was on a Carribbean cruise with some Dolphin fans and they were all happy NE won, they loved the whole underdog come out as a team thing. That all changed after 2 and 3.

People ballwash Peyton Manning WAY more than Brady even when Brady and the Pats were killing the Colts. If Tom had the game that Peyton had on Monday, then there would have been a media firestorm saying how he was done. Blah blah blah.

^ I know this is right.

Did anyone see Sportscenter yesterday, where Bob Holtzman or whatever his last name mentioned how terrible Brady's game is, saying "his QB rating is just below Sanchez" I'm thinking 'come on, man'. Brady's rating is 94.

Bob forgot to mention that Brees QB rating is somewhere around 79, Rodgers rating is 89, and Manning after Monday night is probably somewhere around Brees' numbers. But they won't trash any QB except Brady.

He could've easily said, Brady's numbers are better than the so-called top 5 QBs, but he had to go there with the Sanchez comments, because we sort of expect Sanchez's number to be lower than the others.

Now I understand how T.I felt when he rapped that "Motivation" song.

They should interview Giselle to get some good trash talk.

Great points all...
and for the majority of the fan bases out there, the HATE would turn to LOVE with he is the GOAT in a heartbeat if he were to become their QB

It is amazing how these kind of stories circulate without anyone bothering to find out if they're true or not (even though a decent number of people in that bar probably had a mobile device that could quickly provide them the facts.) It's kind of like those stories about the Patriots circumventing the QB/Coach radio cut-off. It's an unsubstantiated internet rumor, but some people act like it's a fact.
