The Raiders are preparing to make a run at Michael Vick, according to NFL sources. The Raiders package would include receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Porter plus the No.1 overall pick in the 2007 draft for Vick and the Falcons first round pick (10th overall).

This would be very interesting what do you think?

wow, if I am the Falcons I would do that in a heartbeat.

That deal is insanely one-sided. They could cut one of Porter or Moss and draft Calvin Johnson #1 or they could keep them both and take Joe Thomas.

This is what it feels like to be a Raiders fan = :bricks:

ATLANTA will "Never" go for it. There goes the sellouts!
I don't know why but Atlanta is one of the worst pro towns in the USA.

Matt Schaub is still pretty damn good and, with wins, they could sell out stadiums. But I see what you're saying. Oakland would be in a terrible position if they do this. A perpetual 8-8 record for them.

We'll get to see how stupid McKay is if that were to happen.

I posted it as a joke in another thread, but... Why not make Vick a WR with Schaub tossing to him? Would Vick be insane as a receiver? OR am I completely over-estimating his athletic ability? Raiders should try to trade for BOTH of them :)

Can't be any worse than QB. Nobody knows if he has hands, and he can't take any big hits. A tad to much money as well for a guy who has never played WR on the pro level.

Go read the Falcons board. They live in Denial; they really belive Vick can do no wrong. Its everone else's fault but his. Its amazing.

Interesting.

I think, despite the latest non-incident, that Arthur Blank and Rich McKay are considering moving him. They have him for one reason, and one reason only: to sell out the Georgia Dome. He's proving to be disruptive to the team, and you could kind of tell how sick of it they were last week.

But they have a decision to make soon, since Schaub is a free agent after this year. If they don't deal him before/during the early part of the season, they're not going to be able to get anything for him as he'll walk after the season.

carolinatony's right: Atlanta is an absolutely terrible pro town. I can't listen to sports radio down here- they don't know their ***** from their elbow- so I am forced to deal with ESPNradio.

They really should move Vick if the Raiders offered this package. Randy Moss will sell as many tickets as Vick and they can get the best player in the country with the #1 overall pick. Vick is just overrated. The Falcons should internally admit that the Vick "experiment" is over.

I'm jealous if this is true. How can a team be so stupid to give up so much for Vick? This has got to be just a bad rumor. Someone tell Al Davis we'll send him Testeverde for the 2nd. And we'll throw in our 5th to make it even. Oh wait, they already have it. Make it our 6th.

I believe that Vick carries a prohibitive cap hit to the Falcons...one of the talking heads mentioned in the range of 20 mill....this is a non starter because of rediculous contract ATL gave thier "athlete" I would say QB but that would be an insult to even the second string QB's in the NFL

Vick gets arrested, Raiders get interested. Coincidence?
