WiFi At the Stadium - How was it?

I got an e-mail from a couple of fans asking about it, so I figured I'd throw it out there for anyone who was at the stadium and used it. Was it fast, reliable, etc?

i was actually able to get on FB and the internet with the wifi. I could on my 4G..but it took a year. it wasn't that bad

Considering 4G is mostly faster than wifi it wouldn't surprise me if people don't even end up using it over time.

WiFi worked good got bumped once or twice but speed was there. the in stadium app that allows red zone watching didn't work for me though. hopefully next home game.

Huh? Cellular is not faster than Wifi.. Unless you out of range of the wifi.. Typically corporate wifi is multiple times faster than 4g

BTW wifi was okay to update scores and fantasy football but redzone was a no go.. Had an apple and android phone with me..

In theory, 4G LTE can get up to 100 mbps. Maybe someone can run a speed test at Gillette next came to see real world performance on WiFi?

Wifi was faster then my 4g android on suday at the stadium. I just wish the in stadium app with red zone worked.

I was able to log into Facebook pregame and ESPN to check my fantasy score at half time. Seemed to work okay. Edit - didn't try the stadium app.

That's what I was alluding to over time as the 4G network grows it will be faster than wifi.

I used it on my iPhone. I was glad to see you didn't have to sign up for anything. Just log into it. I checked out patsfans.com and speed seemed good. I didn't want to spend the game looking at my phone so I didn't really put it through it's paces. Of course people should be aware that it is open and not secure so you are vulnerable to a man in the middle attack. I wouldn't log into anything secure while using it.

I guess yes in theory you could get 100mbs.. but you'd never get 100mbs on 4G LTE (except in the lab in your the only one with a phone )

Verizon test show at best 9mbs..

On Wifi, in theory, you can get between 300-600 mbs.. & this is on a SOHO, never mind in a corporate environment, which could go even faster..

He kids but seriously hook a brother up. I think he should have had you at opening day being one of the guys holding up the tablets for the Promos. Or at least his assistant that needed to carry the bag with the tablets in them.

There was a Gillette stadium IT guy sitting on the stairs next to my seat running tests. He said it was working well in that part of the stadium (sec 122)

Enterasys (formerly known as Cabletron many years ago). Glad to see the Pats went with a very worthy local networking company rather than take the easy choice/safe route (i.e., Cisco).
