50/50 chance of Bruschi,Harrison and Dillon Retiring?

I would be horrified if all 3 let alone even if 1 of these guys decides to retire...I am betting of all 3 Bruschi is most likely to hang up the cleats and Dillon second most likely,I think Harrison will think about it as well especially since age and injuries are now affecting his seasons now 2 years in a row.

We need to have an unbelievable draft and SPEND in free agency to be competitive with the not only the league but the AFC East which will be very competitive next year.

This is the year we need to bring in some talent on the Free Agent waters...The holding back in free agency may be our downfall especially if 1-3 of these guys retires leaving huge holes all over.

The years of doing it with guys off the streets is becoming old and the bottom tier teams will be catching up,now we must spend,not overspend but spend to the point of filling the roster with adequate replacements who have 'been productive' on other teams,the old days are over for the most point,except for rare good replacements like Gaffney,you now can't replace caviar with tuna fish anymore if you want to win the big game and be in the playoffs consistently in the future.

i know people will yell at me for this but i think its good for us if bruschi retires than BB having to make a tough decision. he is past his prime..can help us as a coach .We should bite the bullet with good young player hopefully and built instead of trying again with bruschi

I would be shocked if Rodney retires. I would be very surprised if Bruschi retires (his post game comments weren't as retirement-ridden as many think). I would be mildly surprised if Dillon retired.

Dillon worries least b/c we have 2 good RB and we can draft and doesnt take much for a guy to just power the ball in like we can get. I hope he stays though..hes done a lot for us

Bruschi..i love this man but his skills are dropping. We need him however..a rookie cant come in and do very well in a 3-4 D.

Harrison..done it without him recently but hes still the man. hes a favorite..hes a leader..hes emotional and has the biggest impact on the D.

I think Dillion is the most likely to retire. He really ran outa steam this season, even with the help from Maroney. I think he's most likely to try to bow out while he's ahead.

Harrison will be back. Too much fire in that guy to go out on an injury. I say he rehabs and comes back for one last year.

Bruschi will call next year his last. I bet he won't play a lot of snaps, and instead will take on a coaching type role for the new LBs. Bet you he announces it's his last year ahead of time too, so that we fans can give him the farewell tour he deserves.

I don't think we'll be seeing Troy Brown again.

It's a tough call, I'm a HUGE Bruschi fan, but I will definately agree he is not the Bruschi of old. I still, however think he has been effective and a big asset to the team. What I wouldn't mind seeing is pulling in a young ILB for next season, assuming Bruschi sticks around for another and seeing Bruschi groom the new guy into the leader he currently is. Replacing Bruschi from a leadership, team morale perspective is going to be tough, but he of all people can influence a young (rookie?) and mold them into a great player and future leader of our team. Just my $0.02.

Bruschi led the team in tackles, too much of role for a LB his age and with his health problems.. seems would fit into a more complimentary role.

I can't believe the lack of Bruschi love on this forum lately.

Has he lost a little quickness? Maybe. Most players do in their 30's. But, Bruschi could play a productive role on this team for several years if he wants to.

If you want to point to a weakness on defense, it was the double-whammy up the middle of Seau and Harrison being out.

I have no doubt that the Pats braintrust will look to bolster the linebacking corps this offseason. Usually when they address a need, they bring in one guy through free agency and one guy through the draft and then let the roles sort themselves out on the field.

I would look for the Pats to target a younger quick LB who can contribute in coverage. Adding a piece to the strong safety mix could be a part of that to. However, keep in mind that we had three safeties miss essentially the entire season: Harrison, Wilson, Tebucky Jones.

the only one of those I would be really upset to see retire right now is Rodney, although if Corey retires I think we will miss him more than we realize. Hopefully none of them retire.

Also take a look at Bruschi vis a vis the cap. Last I looked, his deal is very cap-friendly, for a leader such as he is. And don't even start me on intangibles... some guys play with heart, he played with a fuggin HOLE in his heart.

It's preparation time again... in a way, this is invigorating. Only wish we'd had 2 more weeks before it started

We're thin at ILB. Yes, we need a replacement for Bruschi, but saying he has no value is like assuming that Monty Beisel is going to take his place.

I think Bruschi comes back as a role player next year. I don't think he's a starter anymore. I believe we'll be looking at 2 new ILBs next year. Harrison will be back. He doesn't want to go out like this. If Dillon retires, so be it. He's the easiest to replace of the three.

I'd like to see all three of these guys back next year. At the same time, I hope we draft new LBs and Safteys using our good draft picks. That way, they can be mentored this year by what used to be some of the best in the business and can be ready to come in in '08 and make an impact.

I think the fact Tedy is even openly pondering retirement to the media, the circumstances of last night aside, it tells me he's having some real questions about what he has left to contribute.
