My guess is that we sign Salas and Rivera to the Practice Squad, bring up Tarp, and cut the wide receiver now on the Practice Squad.

Looks like sunny skies but cool with a high in the upper 60s here

Nope.....BB is going to sign Russ Francis:)

I could see Bobby Carpenter possibly back

I thought Salas wasn't eligible for the practice squad?

Salas is PS eligible, with only 6 games accrued as an active player with the Rams.

Someone yesterday claimed that his time on IR counts as active games, but in looking over many links on the internet describing practice squad rules, I believe that to be incorrect.

If IR counted then Tarp would be ineligible.

I'm guessing another Bedard pants-tent as he gleefully tells as how much Brady sucks and how great the receivers are again. The new Wednesday ritual.

Ok you know what someone somewhere has too much time on their hands -why would you make a day like this ???-That being said have a good day

AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHH ;)

Started by Portland guys. Figures.

Sign Ventrone

And then release Ventrone by Thursday.
Don't worry... they'll sign him back next Monday.

Sadly the Ventrone Transaction watch has a few weeks to go, meaning last year's NFL single-season record for number of transactions is likely to remain intact.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: The Blitz»» Ross Ventrone reaches injury settlement. Return possible down the road

Ross Ventrone, aka, Mr. Transaction, received an injury settlement from the team, according to a source.

That prompted the defensive back’s release from the team on Friday. And because the team was able to reach a settlement within a five-day window of placing Ventrone on injured reserve, he is now eligible to return to the Patriots later in the season, if both parties so choose.

Per league rules, Ventrone is allowed to return six weeks after the length of the injury settlement, which we don’t have the specifics on at this time.

Ventrone had been waived/injured with an undisclosed injury on Monday, then cleared waivers for the Pats to place him on IR.

edit: crap, the Herald sure does get a ton of SEO spambots in their comments section!

MoLewisRocks stated yesterday that Salas in no longer eligible for the PS due to his being on the 53 man roster from the start and then going to IR.

Rarely is he ever wrong about such things, but there does seem to be some question as to whether or not this is true.

Is it possible that Tarpinian is different due to not initially being on 53 man roster? I have no idea.

I think if Salas is eligible, we'll definitely see him added to the PS very soon, as he seems to be a viable candidate to perform who already knows JMcD's offense.

ESPNBoston said Salas had eligibility. This time, a Branch-for-Salas swap - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

"We'll now wait to see if Salas clears waivers and possibly returns to the practice squad, as he has eligibility. "

Just because it's on the internet doesn't make it true, but these guys do a pretty good job

What will Wednesday bring but yet another .......

"Trade Wes Welker" thread :bricks:

and

"Bench Woodhead" thread :bricks:

Yeah, you beat me to it. I was just coming back here to post this article explaining that he does indeed have PS eligibility remaining, which would make more sense.

Since I trust good posters like MoLewisRocks on personnel matters/contractual matters such as these, I went with his opinion, but it appears as though he was not correct on the matter this time.
