And your reason why or why not

Pats because 1.I think they can and 2. because I'm a homer, duh.

Who "needs" the win more..pats or ravens?

I went with us to win, based on a prediction of a better week of practice, more time to develop a realistic replacement method for Hernandez instead of working on the fly, and the fact that this loss stung and woke them up a bit.

As to 'who needs it more?' That's a tough question b/c both teams will still be very much alive with a loss in their respective divisions, but if I had to pick one or the other I would pick the NEP. That is based on the fact that the expectations were incredibly high off of another SB loss, the good draft, and the correcting of some weaknesses. Starting 1-2 would hurt the Pats more than it would the Ravens.

Just my opinion of course. Arguments can be made both ways.

See i think the ravens 1-2 hurts way more based on their rough schedule and tougher division. They have NEVER made the playoffs when they have started 1-2 or worse...this is a big game for them

I'm afraid the Ravens will win handily. The Ravens D will feast on the Pats' offensive line. The Patriots defense will keep things close enough into the fourth quarter but will succumb to too much time on the field and Baltimore will win by two scores. Plus, the Ravens will be amped for revenge, the crowd will be loud, etc., etc.

Hope I'm wrong.

I unfortunate see it this way as well...for now.

The thought of the jets leading the division for even a week makes me

cuz Mr. C. Jones said so

Either this or a 38-17 blowout in favor of Baltimore. This is the single hardest game on the schedule and there is no real shame in losing it. Losing last week doesn't change that.

Hardest game on the schedule is NOT the ravens..houston and 49ers will be even tougher than the ravens.

Ravens will win because.....

1) 20 of last 21 wins at home......even better home record than the Pats the past 2 seasons.

2) Edelman cannot penetrate the slot like Wes can and I think Belichick continues this dumb ass game of spite tactics which is hurting the offense.

3) Hernandez creates havoc with DCs....now they just double Gronk and it gets tough,Brady to Lloyd has been mediocre and Reed is going to be tough.

4) Fans screaming and the revenge factor from the AFCCG

Only turnovers can pull this one out for the Pats IMO.

As far as BAL never making it to the playoffs at 1-2 I think you'd have to look at 2 factors to properly assess that statistic:

1. How many overall teams and what percentage made it at 1-2

2. The fact that BAL hasn't been in the NFL all that long

I think that proper execution by the Patriots can give them a shot in just about any situation. It will all come down to whether or not the defense can continue to look good, the limiting of turnovers, and how well the offense executes in my opinion.

A good week of practice and proper execution can go a long way.

What I am wondering is what if the Pats lose to the Ravens and the Broncos lose to the Texans.

That would put Manning against Brady in a clash the following week with each QB with 2 consecutive LOSSES for thier teams and the loser going for 3 losses in a row.

I never thought I would see that happen...and hope I don't.

Except that we play AT BUF in the next game.

game before that is buffalo..and if we lose to the ravens..i expect them to destroy buff

And Houston will beat the broncos..they are just too good

Brady 8-1 against the Ravens. Enough said. But in all fairness, the Ravens offense is more deadly with the addition of the downfield threats, but the Pats defense is way better than last year's. The Pats can take Ray Rice out of the game and let Flacco try to beat them. Pats offense will play better and they should go do more of the no-huddle, short-passing stuff that got them to the super bowl in 2011. Hernandez isn't there, but Lloyd and his downfield playmaking ability will have to be accounted for, something the Ravens didn't have to do last year with Ochocinco. Deion is now the 3rd WR, and he will be more productive there than the #2 WR spot he was in last year.

Patriots 33
Ravens 28

Patriots will buttf*** the Ravens on Sunday.

Cardinals defense is a step up from the Ravens D this season, and the Patriots won't be sleeping on the Ravens. Brady plays well mad, and watch for the offense to shut up the naysayers.

There might be a pick, but it won't stop the onslought. 35-17 Pats.

I'm saying pats by less than 3, down to the wire.

Why?

Because the team got it's first taste of crow last Sunday and have come back to earth. I think the team will be focused and determined, (as will the Ravens).

With the age of Balt's D, they run out of steam in the 4th while the Pats young D still has fuel to burn. Chandler and Dont'a...Say hi to Flacco!

Our O line has another week to gel and Brady should be ready to kill. Gronk, Wes, and now Twigs are back together, and that is chemistry as 3 out of 4 of Brady's favorite targets. If Lloyd clicks in a little more, all the better. Ridley keeps them from thinking pass all day long.

I think it'll be a battle, I think the refs will blow a few calls (for and against the Pats) as we can expect. I expect the team to surprise a few people especially on this board. I know I could be wrong, but then again, so could those who say we get smoked.
