Then we get a fumble recovery.

Then Woodhead runs it in, but it gets called back.

Then we set up for not a sure thing but probably a 75% chance field goal.

Good for ones that came back, the ride home after Ghost's shanked FG must have been miserable.

This is far from the first time this has happened. What kind of fan leaves when there is still time and a chance to come back. Most of these people are just going to be sitting in their cars anyone.

I was there and stayed until the end. A group next to me left early. One guy said "I've had enough" and then they left. I was wondering how they felt out in the parking lot when they heard the cheering when we recovered the fumble.

A little of subject here, but for those of you who say watching on the big screen is just as good as being there I can tell you that the level joy of being there in the stadium when it's a last minute victory or the level of pain of losing in the last minute is a thousand time greater. There simply is no comparison in my opinion anyway. That was one long 3 hour ride home. Then again, last year when we won the AFC Championship it was one joyous ride home.

To each his own; its a free country but the trill of victory and the agony of defeat(or da feet in ghost's case) is just greater if you'e inside the stadium witnessing it. I remember a few years ago when we got two very late TD's against the bills to steal a victory. Waves of people left and only learned we won the game while waiting in lines trying to get of the lots. How miserable were they that they gave up on their team and missed out on a great comeback?

If i had the chance to be in one of the team games, win or lose i was most likely sleeping in the stadium afterwords. never understood those fans who leave before the game ends, ******* appreciate the fact that you have the abillity or the money to see your fav team.

In my 19 years as a season ticket holder, I've never left a game early -- including preseason. Why would anyone invest a day in going to a Pats game only to leave early? Makes no sense to me. Neither does the booing, but let's not open that moronic can of worms again. :bricks:

We stayed right to the end but you can understand some of the people leaving early. Getting out of that place can be a PIA. If it doesn't bother you, stay. If it does, get an early jump. FWIW, there were a lot of people leaving way before the fumble recovery.

BTW, am I the only one who was surprised that the Cards took a knee during the last kickoff? If they had run it out of the end zone, the clock would have run and we would have likely lost our last timeout because the play would have gone beyond the 2 minute warning. Poor situational football played by the Cards special teams.

The TV broadcast showed people leaving on the bridge and then running back once Spikes caused the fumble and Wilfork recovered.

If they had run it out of the end zone, the clock would have run and we would have likely lost our last timeout because the play would have gone beyond the 2 minute warning. Poor situational football played by the Cards special teams.

I was yelling the same thing... I wanted Gost to boot it out of the endzone so there would be no return, but then it was returnable, only maybe 3 yards deep.

If they had run it out we would have been able to stop the clock one less time. They could have done kneeldowns rather than the handoff that led to the fumble, and with no fumble could have taken it down under 20 seconds before punting.

Yesterday I was upset about what I heard on my TV in the first half of a very close game, fans booing the Patriots offense (not he scab refs). I said those people sounded like spoiled cry babies.

Since then I have had a chance to calm down. I threw the red challenge flag and reviewed the call. After further review,the statement stands as called.
