Am I crazy, or did I see Sterling Moore in the game more than Dowling? Anyone have the numbers?

I like what I've seen from Moore so far this season. He's been a lovely little pickup so far in his career.

I know it's not on topic that the bolded interested me. It looks like the only snaps that Chandler Jones missed were in the series immediately after the one he absolutely dominated. Interesting choice to bench him. Was he injured, being rested or was there a bit of psychology going on?

The player that gives the team the best opportunity to win plays on Sundays.

I hope Tavon starts getting more snaps over Gregory. 2 weeks and 2 costly miscues by Gregory, I think even in SD they said he's better in a reduced role.

Moore getting the start over Dowling because he is more physical is horsecrap. Dowling is very physical. My guess is Dowling must have missed, or was late to a practice or meeting.

I agree with this, something happened to earn him a seat on the bench, much like Ridley's benching late last season. You don't go fdrom a starter to no snaps in a week for gameplan as there would still be a role for you. I-Dowling must have either missed something scheduled or shown up so badly on tape that they decided to send a message.

Very confusing to me too. I don't get it, especially since he impressed in week 1.

Didn't he miss a tackle that let Heap run 25 yards down field on a key 3rd down?

He did the same thing in the AFC Championship and I almost kicked a hole in the wall, luckily he was in good enough position after getting beat to knock the ball out of Evan's hands...

That being said Ras A has looked pretty bad, he has poor technique and is clumsy with his feet. Maybe he can learn something about Safety and play a hybrid role for the team.

You're thinking of Arrington's missed tackle. And I'm not sure I agree with you re: Ras I's technique or clumsiness.

Ok, my bad, that play by Arrington was god awful. Almost as bad as the Twin of Terror (Cannon and Thomas).

Moore couldn't have possibly played in almost 1/2 the snaps yesterday because he's not even going to make the team out of training camp.

Same with Edelman.

Both are bubble players who won't make the team, and if they do they surely won't be active on gameday.

Moore played well yesterday. Everyone on the defense was good except for Gregory.

I wish the same was said for Donald Thomas! :p

The return of Connelly should help for sure. At least I'm ass-uming that he'll be returning this week anyway.

Something's wrong with my DVR so I haven't been able to re-watch the games so far this year to see individualized matchups. I'm aware that the interior pressure has been a significant problem, but I can't comment on exactly how bad Thomas has looked so far. I'm guessing that it's not too good though.

I think that McDonald is ready to come back too, so maybe Thomas doesn't see many live reps in the near future.

It's funny how the interior line was deep and our concern was with the outside tackles, yet Solder and Vollmer/Cannon have held up better than expected and now our concern is back to the interior, especially with Ngata and the Ravens coming up.

Yes, the defense is certainly holding their own, at least so far.
