AZ vs NE positives

Oh forgot this one.

Taking this team lightly is going to make for one ugly, ugly week of practice from BB. The Ravens should be seeing one pissed-off and focused football team come next week.

Big Vince came back in the game and didnt look like he was hurt.

i was at the game near the pats bench..he was limping BAD for a few mins. but nothing serious ( that we know of )

1. It sounds like Hernandez will be back.
2. Id rather lose him now than in November and December.
3. Jones and Hightower continue to be impressive.
4. Ridley could be a stud.
5. The Pats didnt quit and almost pulled it off.

What are yours?

1: McDaniels sucks
2, 3, 4 & 5: Same as yours.

Positives:

Chandler Jones
Dont'a Hightower
Tavon Wilson
Brandon Spikes
Devin McCourty
Kyle Love
Vince Wilfork

With regard to the New England Patriots defense, the kids are alright with Vince Wilfork anchoring the defensive line! :D

forgot to mention..kyle love is really coming into his own..looks great out there

1: McDaniels sucks
McDaniels doesn't suck.

Don't need another NEM redux around here.

McDaniels can't block for offensive lineman Donald Thomas and Marcus Cannon from the sideline. McDaniels can't block for tight end Michael Hoomanawanui on short yardage situations either from the sideline. McDaniels can't catch the ball for wide receivers Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker from the sideline.

This defense is taking the look and feel of a special unit. They make stops, make plays, and have seem to be moving in the right direction. Jones forced another fumble this week folks...
Hightower looks great as well.

Edes performed alright. Solder has been getting his ***** together. Gost naked the fifty+ yarders...$&@):;"#!&$

Negatives:
O line was less than impressive. I'm not sure scar can coach then out of this one...
Special teams.
Worst of all, Brady seems rattled. Happy feet, missing throws, etc. It wasn't until they were down eleven and he got pissed off that he started playing well. He still seemed to be hitting defenders about ad often as his own receivers though. Props to the az defense, they made the pats offense look incredibly pedestrian.

The Patriots offense appears to be in no danger of peaking mid-September this season.

I would rather lose early in the season than late in the playoffs.

The Ravens will probably be more motivated because of the AFCG, but as for today, they were clearly outplayed by Philly even when Vick and co. tried to give them the game.

Our 3rd WR put up 5 catches for 95 yrd.Not sure when we when a 3rd WR put such numbers.

No1 Wr was targeted 13 times , most for a WR. lloyd is becoming goto guy.
even though he sounded like az when asked about the kick and team loss.
he was said no comments on the kicker.

satz

I'm not sure that is a good thing in an offense with Welker,Gronk and presumably AH. I don't think he is as good as any of those guys and all i really wanted from him when he came to NE is to make the intermediate catch and provide an extra threat on the outside. Not to be targeted 13 times a game though i guess the loss of AH is the cause of this.

I don't have anything to add by way of positives because they've all already been mentioned. I just wanted to thank Triumph for at least trying to bring some balance in choosing to focus on the positives. We've already seen that there will be many negative threads this week. That's the nature of the ebb and flow of the regular season.

It was nice to see the defence come up with the big play when it mattered. We have lacked that in recent memory. If they continue to play like this, they will be a top ten defence with ease...let's just see how they play against slightly better opposition.

This has been my mantra for a little while now. I want to see what they look like against the likes of Flacco and Manning before I really declare anything. The D has looked really good thus far, though. We'll see what happens. I don't expect the O to wet the bed again for the rest of the season. I know that's lofty, but I really think they'll get things straight. Tom is too good. Welker and Gronk are too good. Ridley is really that good. The talent is there.

I keep emphasising this might have been the best front seven we face all year on offence. It's not an easy team to play. The O Line failed to execute in all phases...they let the team down.

Given the play of the O yesterday BB's hand may be forced on three things.

1. He needs more Welker.
2. He needs to Ring Brian Waters and come to a compromise. THe money is there. Brady is going to get killed otherwise.
3. Never ever EVER put Connolly in at FB for another snap.

What are yours?

Pretty much the same as yours.

1 & 2 - Hernandez could have been lost for the season.
3 - There are even more names that could be added.
4 - So far so good.
5 - We always have that don't we?

So where's the negative thread? I need to visit that one too.

1. The loss will hopefully allow us to refocus and light some needed fires under some butts.
2. The loss came against an NFC team which is the least significant loss we can have.
3. Hernandez's injury doesn't appear to be as bad as it could have been.
4. We've still got a slew of other TEs sitting in the wings getting healthy for later in the season when we bust out the 5TE set. :)
5. Our young defense appears to have the makings of an elite defense for years to come.
6. As bad as the refs were all around the league this week, they can't be blamed for our loss.
7. After losing one of the most significant members of our offense on the 3rd play of the game, McDaniels was still able to do well enough to give us multiple opportunities to still win the game.

Losing Hernandez this early means less film on how we use him when the games truly start to matter late in the season.
