It's unfortunate that with this loss, the performance of the defense will get lost in the shuffle. The patriots defense was put in bad position by our offense, yet they were easily the most consistent unit out there. we didn't have much of a shot to win but our defense caused a timely fumble. hopefully the patriots offense can compliment our new look defense.

Defense played excellent and made some great plays. Special Teams and an offense that seemed disinterested after Hernandez went down cost us this game.

the timely turnover that we saw from the pats defense was reminiscent of the Patriots championship defenses. hopefully the patriots respond the way they did after the loss to washington in 03

D was great. Love it. Held them to 29% on third. Won turnover battle ect and still lost. Thats on the O. Big time

The front 7 is starting to look like a big time strength for this team.

yes highlighted by Chandler Jones.

I would note that McCourty has played like a true #1 CB this season.

It was Kevin Kolb :bricks:

They look better, but they haven't been tested yet.

This defense is definitely better, but big time defenses do not let up first downs in crunch time when they know the offense is going to run the ball three straight times. That was a big "son of a *****" moment for me - and they didn't even need three carries to get the first.

Fitzgerald targeted 5 times 1 rec 4 yards
Guy had 1400 yards last year with Cardinals QB's throwing to him

If this was last year's defense Kolb throws for 300+ & 3 td's and Fitzgerald has 150+ and 2 of those td's.

They were great again. I can really only pin 10 points on them today. They also set us up 3 times with great field position (1 thanks to a great return by Edelman but it was also thanks to a stop deep in AZ territory). There is really no excuse for how bad the offense and coaches were today the defense put us in a great position to win this one.

Here Here the defense rocked........Jones, Mayo, Spikes, Hightower, Wilson, McCourty, Chung, Love, Wilfork all balled out today.

Chandler is just a freakish athlete, i'm now convinced the the JPP comparisons are legit.

How about Tavon Wilson................take that "draft-niks"

Through 2 games the defense has held opposing teams to 9/28 on 3rd down (32%). Not bad.

How many times can you expect them to come up with the big play?

they still got the ball back in FG range for the Offense, blocked punt and a missed game winning FG sounds to me like they need to work on the ST more then offense and defense IMO

The Defense really only gave up 13 points.

You can't put that blocked punt on them since it put a fresh Offense against the on the 3 yard line.

Nothing wrong with the Pats defense. The Pats offense, however, is hurting.

Not sure when I last had more confidence in the Pats defense than offense.

Are we ever going to be able to field a complete team again? When the defense is great, the O is not as good. When the O is great, the D is not as good. Why can't we have both again?

Except for one punt I thought Mesko did not do a good job of handing them bad field position. They present no threat to return a kick or punt. As far as I can see the ST are really weak right now except for kick coverage, and normally Gostowski is excellent. Today it all came unraveled.
