Tom Brady entered 2011 playoffs with separated left shoulder

It definitely affected him in the second half of the Super Bowl. Once he reinjured that shoulder, he went from something like a 16 pass completion streak to wildly inaccurate.

Every year, we hear about these injuries. Almost like making excuses.

I don't think it's making excuses at all. It's not like Brady and Mankins have come out and said "Gee, if I'd have been at 100%, things would have been different.". Not at all, they haven't said a word..... These are just reports that are inevitably gonna come out (particularly if they are true), and when they do most people are like.... "Yeah, I guess that makes sense".

Whether it was a reinjury, or just a regular injury.... It's pretty clear that Tuck's hit on Brady effected him somehow. As has been noted, he was a completely different QB after. No zip and inaccurate.

I've often wondered how an injury to your non throwing shoulder can affect your throwing motion, maybe it's a balance thing.

I think it's just a "Pain" thing. A seperated shoulder hurts like hell, especially when you reinjure it by getting smashed by a monster like Tuck

Oh, I know the pain, I had it happen as a 12 year old, coach popped it back in, cried like a baby. And I didn't have to throw, I was a LB.

Would you prefer he sets himself up as a warrior and show/aanounce the pain like Big Ben?

Atthe end of the season no-body (like what i did there) is at 100% and it was clear during the game that he got hurt. Just didn't know it was hurt thag bad before the game. Not bad for a skinny kid from Michigan State via California.

Big Ben IS a warrior. You don't believe me? Just ask him...he'll tell you.

Ben once played a game with a painful toe injury. He told us all about it before he gutted it out. That Ben is amazing.

I would agree if these reports came out in February. Besides, Mankins playing the entire season with a torn ACL can't be farther from excuse making on why the Pats lost the Super Bowl.

Almost? Either say it is or it isn't. Man up.
