I love the idea of this team getting physical and getting some big "legal" hits on opposing offenses. Patrick Chung plays key role as intimidator - BostonHerald.com But with Chungs history with injuries, is it worth the risks? I know that's his job, but when he's not out there it makes a difference. What is the alterative, and what do you think we can expect if he does get hurt again?

I think we can expect Wilson to start and Ebner coming in on passing downs. It'll be fine.

While Chung is a solid player, I don't expect him to play 16 games this year.. He doesn't have a big frame to take on the punishment he dishes.. I've meet him a few times at work and while always nice and a smiling, I think he needs to fill out. When you look at him, he looks like a basketball player.. its actually funny..

Thanks for the response. Yea, he does look a little on the small side. It's amazing the tenacity the guy has. BTW, What do mean by you've met "him a few times at work"? Do you work there? If so, that is pretty cool :rocker:

I really hope so. I like the guy and want to see him out there. But it remains to be seen if he can stay healthy

I worked sometimes out of our remote office and he has a family member there, he would pick up a couple times a week if he didn't have practice.. Very nice guy, always smiling

Chung's kinda become one of those guys where I'm happy if he's around but not too worried if he's not (due to injuries). He's a very good player but he's starting to become one of those players you just can't count on to be in there every play.

He is always out at least 3-6 games every year

I'm not sure a special teamer who played 3 snaps of defense in his college career puts us in the 'fine' category as the #3 safety, playing 40 snaps a game.

That would be true in most cases but not this time. He is Nate Ebner. That is all.

You are correct, sir.

I actually made reservations at a nice hotel in Canton, Ohio for the summer of 2029 for Ebner's enshrinement in the HOF.

We haven't had a 'made of glass' thread in a while now ... maybe it will be Chung.

he plays recklessly which will make it difficult for him. He is always going 100mph.

Gift and a curse mentality.

Interesting comment considering he missed 0,2,8 his first 3 years, and has never missed 3-6.

Clearly you are missing the theme of this thread. In 3 years he's missed 10 games. That's 3.333 games a year average , or 3-6 as it falls in that range.

All I know is I hope he's back in time for the playoffs. Wait. He isn't hurt yet. :ugh:

I am not worried about Chung missing some games. However, I would NOT expect to have 40 reps a game just because Wilson does now. I would expect to see an increase in the reps of one of the corners, with Gregory and Wilson playing almost every defensive rep.

I'm not sure a special teamer who played 3 snaps of defense in his college career puts us in the 'fine' category as the #3 safety, playing 40 snaps a game.

Come on Andy. Some people call you a homer. Stick up for your Buckeye!:D

I do agree, unless he's the 3rd S or playing garbage time snaps on D, I don't want to see him on the field; at least this season.
