Wilfork without a doubt is the best Defensive Tackle in the NFL, I would say he should be in the conversation for DPOY based not only on stats but on his overall impact on are team.

What has me really excited is how much Kyle Love has developed. I would rank him in the top 15 Defensive Tackles in the NFL and he seems to be getting better every game.

I may sound like Rex Ryan right now but I feel like the we currently send out the best DT tandem in the NFL.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Wilfork is definitely 1b, but Ngata is 1a.

Both are great players. I think they are on a par.

Ngata has some great showreel moments.

Vince is ultra consistent.

Wouldn't dare pick an A or B among them.

Was just gonna post this. Ngata is a beast and when on..... there is noone his equal. There are some times that he isn't though. I think Vince is consistently the best. Play in and play out.

There could be a lot of discussion about that, but that's my feeling. Oh yeah, I'm a little biased :)

But...But...But Wilfork didn't beat them in the NFL.com top 100 players.

You all must be wrong.

On Point Wilfork is awesome jury is still out on Love but he had a great 1st game. Lets all take a step back and at least wait a couple of games until dubbing them the best, i'd like to see some harder fronts than Tennessee's e.g the Ravens game.

Last i recall Vince dominated the ravens O and Ngata was blocked by a TE 1 vs 1 for a TD.

Not just any tight end!

Love looked terrific all preseason, the fact he kept it up yesterday is a great sign. Deaderick is looking the party as well. Granted, he is no Vince, but the deaderick/love pairing seemed an adequate tandem while giving Vince a blow. Hopefully this pair can continue to perform to take some of the heat off Vince. He has played a ton of snaps the past few seasons, I'd hate to see something happen to the big fella.

Regardless, it is hard not to get stiff watching this defense. I sense another impressive sb run, on the back of the d this time around. With a seeming resurgence of the run, I fully expect a return to glory!

Love is a beast.

Love has rather quietly turned into a really good player. Sometimes you see a mess of bodies and just see someone got wrecked and assume Vince was responsible, but then you see it was Kyle just pushing a guy back. He's explosive, so is Vince.

I really couldn't be any happier with our 1-2 punch inside right now, and our depth behind them. Brace/Deaderick is not to shabby at all for backups.

Between those two and the linebackers, it looks to be a tough task to run on the Pats up the middle. Teams are going to have to bounce outside more, and thankfully our secondary is full of good tacklers overall. Run defense has all the tools needed to maintain its performance.

No doubt is Ngata more talented than Wiklfork, but Ngata hasn't played up to his billing for a couple of years. Maybe it's injuries, maybe it's age. He is a huge guy, so the body will eventually break down.

Vince has been epic for us. I can't remember which play it was, but there was a replay shown where right off of the snap Vince literally tossed his blocker aside  like it was nothing. He's incredible. The interior was just as good, if not better, than our edge guys.

Love is a beast.

He is, and as someone noted in this thread, he is quietly making a name for himself. People are just beginning to notice how good the guy is becoming. With Brace's improvement, and when you pair it with Chandler Jones and a resurgent Cunningham, the Pats could have their front four signed, sealed, and delivered for years to come.

Ngata wore down last year and was dealing with a hip injury that limited his performance.

Yup. He was dominant in week 1 just like big Vince. It's just splitting hairs when comparing the two.

For just a minute, and judging by the title I thought this was a pre 2012 thread from a Jets fan talking just about Rex Ryan

Yeah, kinda the same as comparing a Bugatti Veyron to a McLaren F1.

Jesus. I read this thinking a Jets fan was trolling the forum with a post about Rex Ryan.

So.....OP got banned?
