Re: Former Pats news: Ty Warren likely done for season again

Must be tough collecting millions for lying on the coach, poor guy.

On that part no it isn't tough. But when it comes to being competitive and wanting to play it is tough to sit out 3 years.

Given the circumstances under which he exited NE, it's really tough to make such a claim about Ty Warren.

I don't think he'll be too bothered by it. It didn't seem like football was his highest priority.

Former Patriots DL Ty Warren tears triceps; career likely over

Former Pats DE Ty Warren tore his triceps Sunday night, which will put him on IR for the third consecutive season - and likely end his NFL career....

I'm surprised Denver did not take notice of what happened to Warren his last couple of years in New England. Instead they signed him to an 8 million dollar contract and thought they had a steal.

triceps are usually a sign of lack of conditioning.. He hasn't shown up to play football since 2008..

In this case, triceps is a sign of a previously torn triceps.

The nonsense some of you are posting in this thread is an embarrassment to the Patriots fan base.

Poor guy my ass! Ty Weighs like 320 lbs! How do you think the coach feels?

"Hey Ty, get off of me you crippled fat ass! I've got a game to plan cookin' and you're NOT in it."

If he loved playing football, and being competitive, he wouldn't have shown up and failed his physical 3 years in a row. He's a guy who has a consistent history of not being willing to put in the effort to stay in shape.

This isn't random that he keeps getting hurt.

Re: Former Pats news: Ty Warren likely done for season again

I feel bad for the guy for sure. He was a stalwart in our base 3-4, and I remember that he, Vince, and Sey were considered the best three-man line in the NFL at one point. I remember thinking that I hope they never break up the trio. Whoops. Maybe Ty knew something when he decided to continue his schooling. It was appear that it was a smart move, as his NFL career is now in doubt somewhat.

On a happier note, Seymour still looks dominant. I watched him last night and thought he was the same dominant player who is stout against the run and can get to the QB as well. We don't need him, but I still can't help but think of what it would be like to have him on this line.

If he failed his physical, how was he under contract? What consistent history of not being willing to put in the effort? Cause in Feb 2008 Belichick said " Warren worked the hardest and had done nothing but hard work to improve since the 2003 draft".

2003-2009 he missed 7 games.

Comparing 2003-2008 Richard Seymour years
Warren missed 4 games
Seymour missed 14 games

Warren missed 16 games in 2010. 3 in 2009, 3 in 2008.

He missed 16 games in '11 with the Broncos, is going to miss 16 games in '12 too.

Here:

Let me google that for you

2008 makes sense, its about the time he signed his big contract and stopped showing up to the offseason workouts. About the time he started skipping training camp. About the time he started failing his physicals and conditioning tests.

One year it was to finish his degree. One year it was family related.

He got seriously hurt each time.

It was pretty friggen clear when they cut him that football was about the 75th most important thing in his life.

Parcells had a saying that when a guy started talking about retirement he probably already had begun to check out. I think Bill has always been cognizant of that. There were huge debates here when Ty announced he was skipping the off season (after the leadership debaucle that was the 2009 defense) to finish his degree in anticipation of a lockout and life after football. I think from then on he was on Bill's to do (away with) list. Although he landed on IR in 2010 before Bill could pull the trigger.

Seymour landed on that list for other reasons mostly related to Bill's preference in only extending guys to long term top market deals if they are all in.

Visual imagery.. hopefully the "coach" can withstand his girth.
