I was surprised not to see a post on Tavon Wilson today. Perhaps I just missed it. I thought he really looked good on Sunday. Buddy and I watching the game, kept noticing his number. Four tackles, two passes defended, and an INT. Not bad for a rookie DB in his first game. Any other thoughts?

He played very well as part of the safety rotation and in the dime package. He played over 50% of the defensive reps. Belichick has gotten immediate help from our top 3 draft choices. That is pretty remarkable.

Tavon WHO? In the SECOND? That's it! Dump Belichick!

The kid has gotten high praise in every mediot's post game wrap up and just about every post game thread started on the board.

Not to worry, he HAS been recognized.

I too was expecting to see such a thread. Thanks for starting it!

Wilson is going to be a very good player in Belichick's defense. He is a versatile player who can tackle and cover and do it from a number of spots on the field. Not surprised he played a lot and expect him to continue to do so.

Like almost everyone else that follows such things, I was surprised when they took him in the draft. But I've liked everything I've ever seen since they made the choice.

Very few Pats fans were opposed to the Wilson pick. The only questioning referred to WHEN he was picked. So, the silly attacks on these fans should really cease. All of us are elated over how competent he seems to be.

I found more satisfaction posting on the Draft page and twisting the knife on the Belichick and Tavon Wilson crtics. The guys who have been running their mouths since the Draft.;):)

So far Tavon has justified my absurd overreactive celebration to his pick in the draft thread.

Do acid much?

Go back to the draft night thread... about 100% initial disapproval of this pick. Only when it became a little clearer just who this kid was, and when some rationales were presented for why we picked him so early, did board members slowly convert to the pick.

Not how I'm remembering it.

These responses sound like the usual range of comments after any questionable pick. Hey, we may love BB, but we are not his altar boys. What a bore it would be if after every BB move, we also echoed "In BB we trust." There wd be no posts at all, just reverential bows to the lead post.

It took me about a week to agree with this pick AS A SECOND ROUND PICK.

Wow, I defend Belichick a lot. I wonder why:D

I rarely post during the offseason for several reasons. First, I don't follow college football much and I'm not a draft-nik. Second, even if I did and was, I still wouldn't have the time or the experience or knowledge of BB?

So.....in BB I trust. :D

From another Pats forum on Tavon's interception. Love this:

All I know is that Matthew Slater would have been running in circles, James Ighedebo would have been clutching his shoulder, and BMW would have launched his helmet into Kyle Arrington.

Ha, ha, ha! I'd say it "became a little clearer just who this kid was" starting at about 1:00pm Sunday for about 90% of this board and that board members slowly converted to the pick by about 4:00pm Sunday.

Seriously, you don't honestly think you're fooling anyone, do you?

I'm still waiting for FredFromDartmouth for his input on Tavon Wilson.

Fred still blames everything on the turf, how's he going to handle coming to grips with an actual human being?

Phew! LOL I had to figure he was, but your post has be relieved. :)

For the record, I don't know if I posted it here, but in my mind, I did NOT like the Tavon Wilson pick in round 2. It's only been a game, but let's hope those negative thoughts are proven wrong.
