I noticed Chandler Jones seemed to injure himself tackling Johnson on a play in the 2nd quarter.

I know he returned and remained impressive throughout the game but I was wonder if anyone knew the status of him and what he may of done?

Don't worry about it. He came back and was still a force. I was more worried about hernandez but he was fine as well

I think he got hit in an erm...uncomfortable region during a tackle.

Exactly what I said when it happened. He was pointing at his junk to get the trainers out there which is hilarious.

He missed 2 plays then was back I believe.

Probably just another dirty play out of a dozen by the Titans OL.

Jones took a knee to the groin on one of the TFLs he had.. He was back out there after a couple of plays..

Yes, getting hit there even when wearing a cup hurts..

A cup is the worst piece of protective gear in sports. I would want some Kevlar **** out there.

Too true.

They're useless in Cricket, doesn't stop the pain at all :bricks: there again, is there anything that would stop the pain of a lump of cork wrapped in leather coming at you at about 80mph? :p

thanks everyone. I glad its nothing serious. He looks special.

Hope it was just a shot and not any type of groin strain. Didnt seem as explosive after that play.

One of the worst things I've even seen in sports was a Sox game (forget the player), and the catcher got hit by a tipped fastball and was down for a long time. It was reported later that his cup actually split.

Speaking as an ex hockey player who has had his fair share of pucks bounce off various pieces of athletic equipment: cups don't stop pain, they prevent serious injury to your fragile bits.

Hear hear!

As a former goalie I once made a gr8 cup save.....

But I had no idea, nor did I care, if they scored on the rebound.

I've seen that happen at cricket games, there was one where the trainer got the cup and there was a big hole in it where the ball went straight through it

True, but football players don't wear cups

I was a little league catcher and a foul tip bounced up off home plate and cracked my cup in half. I was done for the game and later... well, let's just say you really don't want to see black & blue down there. :)

who wears a cup playing football? I didn't wear one and dont think anybody on my team did either.

If memory serves, that was Carlton Fisk. I remember that particular play. He was wearing a half cup then (he admitted as much after the game), as was his wont.

When I played hockey back when the earth was young, I'd invariably end up with a groin pull from playing with those things on. I had to wear them, of course, but I hated them.

I had a cup split on me playing hockey. Getting off the ice was probably one of the scariest moments of my life to that point. It still sends a shiver up my spine to think about it.

When I first saw th replay I thought he was motioning to his knee.

thankfully, his boys took one for the team.

Get well soon Chandler.
