Notable Titans game stats

The Titans had 10 possessions in the game, and their best starting field position was their own 21-yard line.

(Perhaps the biggest theme to the game for me: whether on special teams or offense, when a Patriot tackler got to a ball carrier today he was DOWN. Immediately.)

Absolutely!

I don't remember a game where the Pats tackled this well. Were there ANY broken tackles by Tennessee?

35 rushes
31 passes.

Something i've maintained for a few years (despite the gaudy passing numbers by Brady) are the benefits for committing to(and executing) the run.

1. We get back one of the best PA passers in the game, the deep bomb to Lloyd (that Lloyd misjudged) was a great example of that. How great is it to see a CB and a FS bite on a playaction?

2. Helps balance the time of possession - giving the defense regular lengthy breathers - especially for the big guys Vince and Kyle

3. Gives the offensive line some attitude - when we are committed to running the ball the linemen are going out and hitting defenders rather than constantly backpedalling and limiting damage.

Great playcalling by McD - great execution by the offense and Brady.

For such a makeshift OL, and one that has been maligned in this forum, the results were pretty impressive, considering this is the first game they've been together. Zero false starts, zero holding, and just one sack allowed.

Props to Wendell for a great game at center. He didn't mess up one single snap or make a bad call.

Bigger than the Int, IMO, was the Wilson played a lot and I barely remmeber any completions to his man/zone, although there were 2 in the seem on McCourtys side where he had to make the tackle because whoever was at safety was not in the vicinity
I was more than pleased with Wilson's debut. I'm not going out and projecting anything stupid on the Patriot's behalf as the Titans are a middle to lower echelon team but geez it was nice to see the D dominant.

McCourty still stinks. He never looks back for the ball. That was PI in the EZ on 32. You cannot block a WR from the ball without at least making an attempt on the ball.

And thats what you took from this game?

Good job man, your streak of worthless negative input to this forum continues....

And incredible run blocking

And how many passes did the man he was covering catch?

Welker 3-14-0
Looks like he was left out of the gameplan.

Run D wasn't good...it was incredible. This d is a real #1 corner away from being one of the league's best.

Mccourty played outstanding today. He has the makings of a true #1

I disagree. He played well the entire game. He was not beat at all on any plays. I think he is on his way back to form.

Stop crying. A good QB will carve this pass D up.

He did not.

Last I looked, when you dive and stick your arm out, you are making an attempt on the ball.. Not to mention that even Phil Simms, upon review, said it wasn't PI because McCourty didn't touch the receiver until the ball was there and hitting McCourty.

Saying McCourty when he had 2-3 of the PDs is just illogical.

Maybe. maybe not. The only one who seems to be doing anything negative is you with your whining about McCourty.

There has always got to be at least one turd in the punchbowl here...

So 5 tackles, 2 assists, a INT that got overturned and 3 other solid pass breakups.

What is a great CB putting up for stats these days?

The one negative you can say is that 2 years ago he makes that INT. His ball skills still aren't where they were. But yeah, besides that... don't see how anyone can say he played poorly.
