So far, the 2007/2008 status of these guys appears in question. Please add to the list if you notice anyone missing:

Tedy Bruschi

Troy Brown

Asante Samuel

Tully Banta-Caine

Daniel Graham

Corey Dillon

Todd Sauerbrun

Junior Seau

Patrick Pass

From that list, the ones that I would make an absolute priority are.

Asante Samuel
Daniel Graham
Todd Sauerbrun

Tomase said in his blog that Asante was shaking hands with a bunch of team officials in the locker room, like he was saying goodbye. I think he walks. But I think that they will focus on bringing Graham back, I think he is a priority.

I think both Troy and Bruschi are gone too. Very sad to think about.

I don't even know their contract status but I hope Troy and Bruschi retire. The thought of either of them playing anywhere else is sickening.

the team leadership would take a big hit with the loss of Bruschi, he is definitely a crowd favorite too

Tedy Bruschi: Back at a low cap and will still be able to contribute in a specialized role.

Troy Brown: Probably gone.

Asante Samuel: Re-signed

Tully Banta-Cain: Re-signed if the money is right.

Daniel Graham: Re-signed

Corey Dillon: Under contract. Not sure what his cap number is.

Todd Sauerbrun: Made a case for sticking around.

Junior Seau: Too old. At 38, no way he gets through a full season. His presence impedes progress at the position for a possible draft pick.

Patrick Pass: Gone.

Sooner I think if Seau is healthy and willing to go that the pats have to sign him. We all know how long it takes a linebacker to get used to the Pats complex scheme. I am very doubtful even a 1st round pick linebacker will be able to play from week 1.

I think we need to keep Sauerbrun, he impressed me in the playoffs. I would love to keep Samuel, although I think we can all reason the chances of this happening are slim. Corey will probably be asked to take a paycut, who knows if he will or not. I would like to see David Thomas play more, I think he is very underrated as a TE both blocking and catching.

I disagree. I believe in the baptism by fire way of doing things. Beyond that, if his replacement is a FA he won't be an inexperienced player. BB won't sign a dumb FA or draft a dumb player who he doesn't think will be able to pick up the D, Duane Starks not withstanding. He'll find someone who knows the game well enough and who has enough football smarts to put themselves in position to start.

I don't have a problem bringing Seau back in a very limited role. But relying him is foolish IMO. His recent injury history is not good.

My off-season wish list:
Adalius Thomas
Jarret Johnson
London Fletcher-Baker
Kevin Curtis or Drew Bennett
Asante Samuel - 6yr/40 million with a 10 mill signing bonus.
Daniel Graham- 4 year / 13.5 million with a 4 million sb.
Jugs Machines for Jackson, Caldwell, Watson
A true FB

In the draft:
OLB/DE
ILB
Free Safety
CB

I think you could say just about all off them gone..

I think we make a run at Fletcher-Baker. BB has been efusive in his praise of him in the past.

I'm not pencilling in Seau as a starter. I said if he is ready to go the Pats need to sign him because he has SHOWN that he can play in the Pats system. You may believe in baptism by fire but BB has shown that he clearly does not.

If you have a beef with anyone it would be with BB. BB has shown that he believes in signing veteran linebackers rather than throwing a rookie LB into the starting lineup. For a rookie LB to make an impact in the Pats system he better be A) VERY SPECIAL and B) VERY SMART. I'm not objecting to drafting a LB, I'm just saying it is VERY unrealistic to think he will make much of an impact his first season, no less start.

Pretty good list. I think the Pats need to aggressively pursue a premier linebacker talent the same way they went after Colvin. We definitely need more athleticism at linebacker, both inside and outside.

youth, ahtleticism, and speed at that position
ive been sayin it the last two yrs
it just doesnt make sense for bb to run the defense he runs and have slow over the hill lb's, honestly it was a mistake by bb and pioli, i love them and theyre great, but they shouldve noticed that our linebackers were declining and we needed to infuse some youth at that position

Then again Im still trying hard to figure out why we are not talking Bears vs Pats in the super bowl..

id for sure like to see troy and teddy come back, and samuel if they can.

Bobby Engram isn't a FA as far as I know. Darrell Jackson is, supposedly.

*sigh* how quickly we shift to another topic... Game has been over for like 4 hours and already talking draft and FA... lol..
