Just heard it on the radio that Schefter reported that he tore it on the Monday night opener vs. Miami.

Well, that would explain him having a "sub-par" season last year, wouldn't it?

Ballsy tough guy.

I wonder how many times Mankins called Brady and Welker ****ie$. lol.

One year ago, opening Monday night matchup between Miami and New England, Patriots Pro Bowl G Logan Mankins tore his right ACL. Not only did Mankins finish the Monday night game, he finished the season, becoming one of the rare, if not the only, player ever to have played an entire 16-game season with a torn ACL.

Adam Schefter's post "One year ago, opening Monday ..." on WhoSay

Mankins is one tough SOB. I now have ZERO concerns about him returning this year and playing at a good level.

Insane.

That is just mind boggling how someone can do that and still be an all-pro.

Logan is the toughest man I've ever had the good fortune of being able to watch play. Played almost the whole season on two bad wheels, never providing the tiniest excuse for not playing up to his usual All Pro caliber. A genuine team leader, Mr. Mankins is.....

Well, I think he was a pro bowler on reputation rather than actual play last year.

But agree--mind boggling that he played at all, much less played decent,

Interesting fact considering how much Mankins was ripped for not being a team player when he held out in 2010.

Wasn't he a first team all-pro as well?

I just remember a few false starts last season from him and not too many horrible whiffs.

He was definitely still good, and nowhere near horrible. But he wasn't his usual dominating self. And now we know why.

Tough SOB

I completely believe this. I couldn't believe I saw Mike Devito dominating Mankins in the first Jets game last year and this explains why.

************, I thought he was a tough son of a *****, but this is a whole new level of toughness.

Wow. Makes me feel a bit better about Waters not coming back.

Holy crap, applause!

That seems as tough as it does seem stupid. But, if there's no long term issues (and I assume the doctors cleared it), then that makes him completely fearsome.

This year could be known as, "Revenge Of The Mank!"

So did he know it was torn at the time?
Either way that's insane, and hats off to him.
But I'd rather him not be out there with knowledge his ACL is torn.
