Re: FIRST GAME PREDICTION: First Offensive Play Of the Game

I'm hoping it will be a 40 yard bomb to Brandon Lloyd, but I bet it will be a 2 yd. run by Stevan Ridley.

Re: FIRST GAME PREDICTION: First Offensive Play Of the Game

For my first post after lurking for years:

Brady to Gronk for 12 yards

Welcome Lurker!!

Re: FIRST GAME PREDICTION: First Offensive Play Of the Game

Ecstasy as the Patriots season will have begun. Then again, the first play of the game will be taken by Tennessee because we'l win the coin flip.

Thus, I predict a Chris Johnson run off tackle for a 1 yard gain..

Re: FIRST GAME PREDICTION: First Offensive Play Of the Game

Come on guys you should know better. The Pats always defer so the Titans will have the first offensive play. I predict a run to Johnson Ninkovich forces the play back inside and Vince and Love combine on the tackle.

LOL - I meant first "Patriots" play when I started the thread ;)

hahaha beat by seconds. Maybe if I didnt include the detail of who made the play I would have beat you. Either way geeky interminds thing a like.

Oh in that case 57 yard bomb to Lloyd for a TD!

First Patriots offensive play will be a pass to the sidelines to Hernandez.

See, we're not all as dumb as we sound...

I, for one, hope they do NOT defer this time. Playing on the road, especially in front of a very robust crowd of Titans fans, I would hope that they would take the ball and score seven points on their first possession, thereby shutting the crowd down a bit.

Then hopefully a defensive stand and another scoring possession by the Pats to follow.

Removing that crowd level of noise is critical.

Also, if we allow the Titans to get the ball first, if we had control of it, I expect them to open with a play action call, attacking our secondary, and go deep off of play action.

Ridley off right tackle. Picks up 8 yards.

Ridley run to the right for 4 yards, singleback formation.

OK, thats a nice pickup for a first play, first down call. It leaves a 2nd and 2.

That being said, would you use the success of the first down play and run the ball again on 2nd down or do something different?

Me, on 2nd and 2, I would use play action and run a screen to one of the backs with Brady under center, not in the shotgun.

My guess, and I hope I am wrong, is that McDaniels will call another running play, right into the teeth of the Titans defense and force us, and Brady, into a difficult third down play, one in which the Titans defense now holds the advantage.

A deep pass to Lloyd that falls incomplete - short.

I guess feelings are still too raw and that, as a result, it is too soon to expect that we've all moved on enough for someone to predict "Safety."

:scared:

OK. OK. Ridley off tackle. Three yards.

Ridley on a draw, the middle is poorly blocked so he bounces outside for 4 yards

10 yd pass to welker on a slant

Brady called for intentional grounding in the end zone...safety :D

Pass to Hernandez for 11 yard gain on the left numbers.

Brady to Welker, 9 yards, screen pass.
