For the sake of doing something different, post your prediction on what you think the first offensive play of the game will be, as well as for how many yards. We'll do this each week during the season, and we'll take a look after Sunday's game and see how many of you called this one right

I am going to go a little crazy and predict a Statue of Liberty play turned into a flea flicker for a 80 yard bomb to Lloyd for the TD. I think it will happen.

In reality, I can see McDaniels coming out aggressive and setting the tone of the season. So I am going to go with a pass to Hernandez for 22 yards.

First offensive play of the game for the pats... Brady takes the snap from the 20 yard line, laterals it to Lloyd, who then laterals it back to Brady... Brady is getting chased, forcing him to run out of the pocket... 3 guys miss... Brady chucks the ball down field and Gronk catches it... The ball is bobbled but he maintains control... 6 guys are dragged into the end zone by Gronk... During the touchdown celebration it becomes awkward when Welker accidentally steps on Gronk's foot... High fives are exchanged anyway.

Brady shotgun snap in the 2TE set w/ lloyd on one side wide; hernandez-welker on the other, rb motions out to make a trips formation w/ hern-welker;

Brady hits Gronk for 8 after gronk assists T on blocking and then slides out to spot lloyd got defender to vacate by going deep & the triplets drawing off the short-mid coverage.

McDaniels first two play calls will be running plays. A 1 yard gain up the middle on first down and a 2 yard loss on second down.

Then, under extreme pressure, set up by the inane play calls on 1st and 2nd downs, Brady will be forced to throw the ball away, out of bounds.

I would have called, on first down, play action and a deep post to Lloyd.

The good side of all of this is that things can only get better, and they will
