Brady's been around longer than Facebook

I was just reading the thread about the Patriots becoming one of the youngest teams in the league and still at the top of the list of Super Bowl favorites. The surprise cuts were the old guys who, for better or worse, must yield to younger men. The Niners had the same approach under Bill Walsh and made the tough decisions with several hall of famers.

It's amazing what the Krafts and Belichick have done to adapt, change and sustain excellence. We've seen every part of the roster re-tooled since the transition from Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady in 2001. Except one.

In the past year we've seen Kevin Faulk, Matt Light, Deion Branch, Dan Koppen, Donta' Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney all go. Good players whose time had come.

It struck me that Tom Brady is only player on the offense predates Facebook which was introduced in 2004. Twitter came out in 2006, and it is now how we get immediate word about cuts, injuries and trades.

I wouldn't be too quick on the Branch and Gaffney part.....but yes, this is a new team compared to the SB winners (save the QB).
