One of the mods passed along a request from some of you regarding the ability to ignore specific threads. I did some research and just added that ability, which removes the threads you ignore from appearing on the main list. Just click on a thread, click "Thread Tools", and click "Ignore this thread".

If you want to remove a thread from your ignore list, go to your User CP and look for "Settings & Options" and view your list of "Ignored Threads". Make sure you clean that out occasionally as I don't have the ability yet to purge that from the panel.

I've tested it and it appears to be working, so hopefully that makes quite a few of you a little happier

For now it's only enabled in this forum, but I'll be installing it forum-wide over the weekend.

Re: OT: NEW!!! Ignore Thread Feature Enabled

Thank you very much, kind sir.

Re: OT: NEW!!! Ignore Thread Feature Enabled

I would thank you Ian, but I have used the ignore thread feature on this thread and cannot see your announcement. :D

So you can ignore the ignore thread thread then?

Hmm.... I can see a Monty Python sketch in the making here.......

People who don't like British comedy will just put it on ignore. ;)

What happens if....

i ignore the thread about how you can ignore threads?

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Maybe some are thrilled with this new addition, but to me...Meh

I don't quite understand why anyone would go into a thread that they don't like the premise of anyway,I just stay away from the 'Lets Trade Brady' type threads and go to interesting ones

Let's say you hate the postgame rant thread, just for example. Well, right after the game, that thread will be hopping, and at the top all the time. Every time you refresh your board, it'll be right up there, bumping other threads off your screen. Well, with this feature, you just put that thread on ignore, and it no longer gets in your way.

That's an awesome feature IMO! Thanks Ian

It's just another way to give you guys more control over the board and improve the user experience. It's a minor move, but it does somewhat allow you to customize what you want to see and also allows you the ability to get rid of what you don't. Also looking into some other features as well, so hopefully I'll get those worked out over the weekend.

o.k.....with that understanding it makes more sense,i thought it would just remain on the board and be blacked out or omitted from your view somehow but remain in order, not erased.

It's very useful for people like me especially, when merely reading the thread title can sour your mood. For example, everytime I bring up the main forum page I don't have to see thread titles like "What do you think about David Tyree outjumping Rodney for that catch" or "What are your thoughts on Wes Welker dropping that ball and costing us a super bowl, have you forgiven him yet?" and other redundant unnecessary crap that's already been beaten into the ground and then some.

I've never been bothered by the fact that a discussion is going on just seeing that headline everytime I'm looking for relevant, useful threads that don't feel like a swift kick in the nuts tends to bother me.

I got ignored it works great, lol. Good work Ian its a nice feature asking our admins to do the same.

BTW...greatest owner/admin on the net , people....this site always improves season after season.

Ian, always appreciate any new innovation. However when can we expect the changes that will allow us to use a quote/bold/italics feature that is used so frequently on other boards.

Thanks

Can I ignore all thread's created by one specific person?? Because I have quite the list. :D

I plan on starting 18 new threads on why Wes Welker is a bum and should be traded for 6th and 7th round picks. You can start with me if you like? :p
