When did the Pats re-sign Wesley Brit and why is he suspended? ;)

Somewhere in Boston, Devin McCourty is wiping sweat off his brow.

Just got a tad bit easier

Wasn't there a thread on here last week that said if they appeal his suspension he will be available to play while the appeal is processed?

Hopefully that is not the case.

Just came here to post this news.

Too bad. I was looking forward to watching McCourty not turn his head to locate the ball while Britt reaches over him for the ball.

Very good news - anything to make the W a little easier to come by.

More likely to appeal a multi-game suspension in hopes of a reduction. Not really anywhere to go down from 1 game. He'll just get it over with, I would think

If anyone thinks one opposing team's receiver absent from the game is going to make a big difference in the outcome probably does not feel real strongly about our defense and the secondary in general.

More the fact Britt, Wright & Washington looks a lot more dangerous than Wright, Washington and whoever the Titans #4 WR is.

That thread got moved to the NFL forum. I posted this news in that thread when I saw it. Britt has 3 days to appeal.

Britt definitely is their top talent amongst one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL if you want to look at it that way,but Britt or no Britt, this defense should be capable of holding Locker in check.....

Chris Johnson is the big worry IMO,this guy had a lot of problems in 2011 and is determined to be the best RB in the NFL again in 2012.

Most people here and everywhere would be picking the Patriots if Britt is on the field. That's not the point. The absence of a team's #1 WR doesn't make a big difference? I'm sure the coaches would disagree when it comes time to gameplan against the Titans.

And as for not feeling real strongly about the D and the secondary.....EXACTLY. After the last few years we should all be Missourians....SHOW ME! Not buying until I see it.

I don't think the defense has proven anything yet,but it HAS to be better than last year...right??

He would have been severely limited anyways coming off the knee surgeries.

Reports have said for at least a couple weeks that Britt would be only seeing about 10-12 total snaps in the game had he played anyway, as he is far from all the way back from his injury.

Regardless though, anything to make the game a bit easier is always a good sign, but the loss of Britt probably isn't as big of a deal as some would think.

Then again, it only takes a play or two out of those 10-12 snaps to make the secondary look bad, so I'll take it as a very positive sign.
