They should take Jesse Holley while they are at it.

Recently released former Patriots wide receiver Donte' Stallworth may not be out of work for long, as he is scheduled to work out for the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Stallworth was released on Monday as part of the team's effort to reduce its roster down to 75 players.

After spending the 2007 season with the Patriots, Stallworth was brought back this offseason on a one-year contract. He, along with Jabar Gaffney, were amongst the familiar faces in the receiving core that were unable to stick around on the active roster, although Stallworth had brights spots during camp, and his character was praised by head coach Bill Belichick.

The Dolphins are currently thin at the receiver position, having traded away Brandon Marshall this offseason, and later signing and subsequently releasing former Patriot Chad Johnson.

Hopefully they will take all of the WR's that can play in this league and leave the Jets with no "second draft" at the position.

LOL. I was just thinking, jeez, now we have to worry about the Jets AND the Fins picking over all of our cuts and trying to learn all our plays in the meantime.

I hope he catches on somewhere, jut not in the AFCE.

Miami is an interesting place for Stallworth as he hasn't had much luck there. He hit that pedestrian back in 2005 in Miami and currently he isn't allowed to drive in the state of Florida. You'd figure Miami would be the last place he'd want to be, but maybe they're the only team that showed interest.

Cutting both Stallworth and Gaffney, IMO, was a mistake.

I didn't see much from Stallworth, but I am really hoping nobody picks up Gaffney. There is definitely a place for him on this roster, IMHO.

Prior to Stallworth being cut the commentators on Sirius NFL radio correctly opined that the Phins desperately needed to comb the waiver wire for WRs.

Best of luck, Donte! (14x per year)

"Stallworth works out for Fish??"

Donte's a skilled Wide Out.

Surely he can do better than that?
