Anyone want to play me on 360? :D

I would. But I don't feel like buying it yet.

I passed on Madden this year in favor of NFL Rewind. After seeing that Branch had a higher elusiveness than both Edelman and Hernandez, I knew it was time to go. And that's coming from someone who bought Madden the last 5 years.

Is the franchise mode any better or more challenging?
I remember in '12 I loved the trading future picks feature but it just made it way too easy, a few seasons into a franchise I had 12 first round picks in the upcoming draft lol

I haven't played Madden in years, I still prefer Tecmo SuperBowl, but a freind asked my why is BB the only head coach not in the game, anyone know?

In the Madden NFL video game series his name is not used and is known as "NE Coach" because he is not a member of the NFL Coaches Association, which licenses the game. Belichick is the only NFL head coach who has chosen not to join the association.

Because he doesn't trust the system, man.

he wasnt even "n.e. coach" last year. They rated him well, and then gave him some odd name. Also, its not just him. All of the coaches in madden 12 have different names. It changed in 12. I havent seen the new 13. Are they back to using the coaches real names?

That's not true. It was just BB.

Then I must have a one of a kind version of madden 12, because the coaches names are different. I play it many hours a week, so im pretty sure i wouldve noticed ;)

Why is Ninkovich a 92? :D

Jim Mora is the coach for the Pats in the PS3 version on 12. Unless I too, have a one of a kind copy

I bought it, and was really disappointed to see you can't play a game in coach mode (QB throws automatically, so you can choose the plays let the CPU play them out) in connected career mode. Basically, that's all I did with previous versions, play coach/gm and try to build a winner. Hopefully they'll patch it in later.

Different strokes I guess, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to not actually "play" the game. :)

Yeah, it's probably not the most popular mode (though there are huge threads in some forums dedicated to getting more realistic sims by adjusting the sliders for this). My thinking is, the more I play Madden, regardless of the difficulty, the more I'm going to find that one play that always beats coverages, or that some trick that makes it too easy to run the ball, etc, etc. I find if I have to rely on the CPU to run the plays I call, it makes it more about choosing the right play and assembling the best team, which is more fun to me.

Like you said though, different strokes :) The odd thing is though, they have the coach mode option for non-franchise, exhibition games. Strange that they didn't allow it in careers ::shrug::

Ok, to end the coaches debate, now that im sitting in front of the game, there are several coaches who are not listed. Bill is listed as Jim Moore. Romeo Crennel is " coach Scantlbury" lol.

So there's more fake coaches on madden 12 than previous years. But what about madden 13?

I'm disappointed in this game.

I've never used or even heard of that mode but I can see why people would do it, the game is too easy once you master your plays. That feature probably makes it more challenging and makes you feel more of an actual coach.

Don't be disappointed until you try a connected careers mode as a coach, and play with your friends (up to 32) online. It's awesome. It's like fantasy football mixed into madden all in one. You are the coach, you play practice scenarios for experience points that you can improve your players with. You play the games. Make trades. Manage a REAL salary cap, with cap penalties, bonuses, etc., and compete with your friends for free agents. It's an awesome mode, and I play with a great group of 32 guys that keep the season moving fast. It's awesome. I have a second career where I am the Pats, took over for the fake bellichick, and my buddy is the Bengals. It's just the two of us, but we can play our season, run our orgs, and eventually meet in the playoffs for bragging rights. It's pretty cool
