No, they can pull him back or try to work out a deal, more interesting is Beckett got claimed by the Dodgers, he has 10/5 rights but I cant imagine him wanting to stay here in this mess when he can go to the west coast to a pitcher friendly park in the National league and be closer to home. Stay tuned, maybe the housecleaning is starting early.

I amended the thread title because wrod now is Beckett, Crawford, gonzalez and Punto maybe to Dogers. Are you kidding me ... all day long.

Looks like Ciriaco has impressed them as the utility man ... I like him.
Crawford ... MEH ... I do like him but not for the money.
Gonzalez ... good player but needs to go and Beckett ... thanks for the World Series.

Nothing bad here ... only good guy to go is Punto but he is replaceable with Ciriaco. Gonzalez never fit in here regardless of his numbers - fans never warmed to him. Crawford I like but not at that money. Beckett is past the back nine. Supposedly the center piece is some pitcher Rubby from the D.R. ... we'll see. I'd take a bucket of balls at this point.

Mauro Gomez has looked good since being bounced back and forth from pawsox to boston...im ok with him for the rest of the year and then see what the off season brings. The guy can swing the bat

Gonzalez is a stud and clear prize in this deal, maybe the Dodgers want him badly enough they'd take Lackey too and we could take some shorter-term garbage contracts back in return...

Even me the Lackey hater would like to see him get a shot next year. I think he will pitch well if he's the #3 or #4 guy.

I loved Boomer ... those were the days we needed to hit at least 3 HR's to win a game. I remember a few times we hit 5 and still lost.

It's amazing how heavy the burden of Crawford and Beckett's contracts are. Gonzalez and Punto for virtually nothing in return. Other than (of course) monetary relief.
