wtf is he talking about here?

New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Brady not even spotted on sideline: While some players who didn’t play were dressed on the sideline, Brady wasn’t one of them. Just a guess, but this could be a similar situation to 2008, when Brady was injured and wasn’t on the sideline as the club transitioned to backup Matt Cassel. That was believed to be a directive from Belichick so Brady wouldn’t become a focal point of media attention on the sideline.

Brady probably wanted to be at home with his kids and Giselle watching Two Broke Girls rather than Belichick's screening of Honey, I Shrunk the Roster.

He said Brady wasn't on the sidelines so the media won't talk about him.

seems like a weird way to say it, comparing "media attention" in the second preseason game to when Brady went down for the year and Cassel had to step in...

I don't really see why BB would care or why it's worth speculating about and bringing in that as a parallel

It is an absolutely crazy attempt to relate the two.

I don't think that Brady is injured, as he was working out on his own with the other WR's/TE's who didn't play either in the last practice.

I'm not really getting the point that he's attempting to make, besides that maybe Belichick didn't want the media attn on Brady with Mallett/Hoyer starting instead?

I don't see why it's such a stretch, honestly, how often does Brady not play? Never.

The only times beforehand Brady hasn't been in the stadium during a game is while he was injured in 2008. Brady wasn't in the stadium tonight, so he compared the two situations.

I think when you read it a few times your point is correct, but it's possible that when first reading it his point is somewhat murkier. It could be that the words "similar," "injured," and "Brady" just take some of our minds to another place. I don't know.

He wasn't comparing the two situations....he was simply proposing a reason as to why TFB wasn't there. In both situations TFB wasn't going to play (for different reasons), and this put the focus on the QB for that game.

On a side note, it's a good thing he wasn't there tonight with the O-line doing their impression of a turn-style.

Reiss reporting Brady tore his ACL and BB didn't want him to be the center of attention during the preseason game

Bad attempt at humor my friend

yeah I get now that that's what he was trying to do, it just seems bizarre to me. He starts off with "this could be a similar situation to 2008"....but it turns out that he only means because BB might have told him not to be there? In 2008 his injury ruined the season and he'd be constantly bombarded with questions about progress etc., how is that similar to this at all? because the camera might have focused on him while Mallet is trying to concentrate?

I think it's a weird piece of pointless speculation about nothing. Belichick probably just said "Tom you aren't playing, take the night off and do whatever you want."

I have a feeling you may be right.

If he's not there Hoyer and Mallet cannot go over to talk to him ... which is what Bill wanted.

That's actually a creative take, and I'm gonna lean towards that being it.

That sums up how I viewed it perfectly.

Jets fans/media are being stupid... This offense will be elite
Sick of hearing how bad our offense is. Does anyone not comprehend that Tony Sparano and Rex Ryan are installing a revolutionary offense that will take some time to master?

The two QB system works! Period. My college--Northwestern University used it last year, and had the 3rd most yards in the Big 10. With this system oline isn't even that important.

Just watch! Go Jets

SG3 recently announced he has somewhere in the vicinity of 50+ posters on ignore, many of whom are regular... PatsFanTx made the original joke that when sg3 opens up a thread it's blank except for Rah Rah's posts... i think it might be true...

Of course, the truth is that Senile Gump has no one on ignore.

He's so crazed he logged on and posted from the QE II en route to England from NYC while his significant other sat alone staring blankly at the waves from a seat by a porthole...pathetic
