Please post your comments, knee jerk reactions, and insightful observations regarding tonight's preseason game vs the Eagles on this thread.

It seems like it's been a long wait between games, because it has. Now the games will be coming like a speeding bullet with this one, Friday, and next Wed.

The #1 thing that I'm hoping for in tonight's game is NO Injuries. It seems like the other games I have watched, there have been way too many injuries.

Enjoy tonight's game and keep in mind, it's still pre-season.

Our desk at NFL Network reports that word from Foxboro is Brady, Mayo, Lloyd, Hernandez, Welker and Gronkowski won't play tonight.

happy they aren't playing

Excellent news if they are healthy scratches.

I am hoping for the majority of players on both sides to be playing for the (on the) Bubble Bowl trophy.

Scrubs galore!!! :rocker:

I'm looking forward to seeing Hoyer and Mallett getting extended time. This is Hoyer's chance to impress other teams, and Mallett's chance to show some level of improvement.

Can anyone PM me about a stream? T'would be appreciated.

Beautiful......add in more.....i want to see more Patriot backups in some serious minutes.....the OL and secondary needs the work though

Most looking forward to seeing Hoyer play with a bunch of starters, I really like him and what he brings, I'm also a little upset that he probably won't be a Patriot much longer, but I'll wish him well and cheer for him like I do Cassel.

Seems like most of the starting D will be intact tonight for a series or 2 at least, looking forward to see how they handle an offense as potentially explosive as Philly's can be.

Might be a little tough to do facing ones on D with your bubble offense...

Dealing with adversity is part of the game. In this case, even without all the starters, there should be starter level players at RB, WR, and OL.

Actually, this will give scouts a chance to see if he can elevate the players around him like a good quarterback has to do.

We're also a fanbase who is pretty consistently bragging about our depth and wondering how quickly every player cut will be picked up by another team. If Hoyer can't succeed playing with a mix of starters and 2nd strings who we consider starter caliber then we've been pretty wrong about him.

Chances are he won't be picked up by a team with a great supporting cast and will have to work with players equal to or worse than our backups at the skill positions.

Who is left at TE?

There are no second string skill players we consider starter caliber on offense tonight...with the possible exception of Vereen. And he hasn't started yet.

Branch - starter last year
Gaffney (?) - starter last year
Woodhead - 3rd down back

Stallworth was a starter too.

So 3 WR's who are NFL starting caliber who are primarily backups in NE is good depth.

Why? What have you heard? I am sure he will be the backup here for this season then see where the QB backup position is next year. I am not sure where Mallett stands at this point in his progression, but seems like he still needs a fair amount of work/reps before he will be ready if needed. He looked very "Bledsoe-ish" last game as far as LOCKING on the receiver that the play is going to. It is amazing looking at a kid like Luck (last night) that looks so poised and "ready" OVERALL (I know he got off to a shaky start, but overall looked really good) and then a guy like Mallett who has all the tools but still looks shaky out there.....Mallett was rated so high at one point in the draft. Still am hopeful that this "project" works out!!!

Silvestro!...and Tyler Urban?

Silvestro had a bad case of "brick hands" last week....hope he has a better outing tonight
