I agree- Vollmer's health will go a long way to solidifying the O Line. He's played at a very high level at times in the recent past and allows the team more flexibility in pass protections and run plays. Instead of covering up a weakness when he's missing they can exploit the skill a healthy Vollmer rolls out on game day.

Vollmer coming back is huge. He won't play tomorrow night, but that's fine. I bet we see Waters this week, so the unit can get some reps in practice as they prepare for the opener.

Hopefully Waters is on his return trip from Hawaii or wherever he's been vacationing and he'll be in uniform by next week at this time. I think the Pats will still be good without him, but great with him.

I actually ran into Vollmer yesterday and asked him how his back was (I know he's probably sick of hearing it)...

Anyways, I still don't know if he answered me or just growled at me, he's one big scary dude!

Neither Vollmer nor Fells will play tomorrow. They won't be able to practice until Thursday in full pads so they will miss this game and the next one more than likely.

I'm hoping that Waters reports tomorrow as well. That way, the entire starting O-line can be available for the last game prior to regular season..

Isn't it pretty customary to play backups for the entire 4th preseason game? I know our starters played last year but that was due to the lockout and an abysmal 3rd game against the Lions.

Nothing is customary with BB, except having someone catch a punt to end camp!
