Who else is eligible for the in-season PUP list?

Great news x 2. Thanks.

I also just heard Shalise Manza Young say she expects Brian Waters to be back soon. She said she tends to doubt the hold out rumors because if he was truly holding out the Pats would likely be fining him for not reporting.

That is great news. We really need Vollmer. Let's just hope he stays healthy all year, we will really need him. If one tackle struggles, you can deal with it. If both struggles, you will have a breakdown.

Herr Vollmer ist kommen?
Das ist fantastisch!
Mach schnell!

I do not like thee, D Fells.

Fells coming off makes roster moves interesting. Could the Patriots actually carry 4 TEs? I've been saying no, but Schiancoe got decent money to sign. Having 4 TEs would really put pressure on other positions.

That TE move pushes me over the edge. I have never ever been more uncertain about who makes the 53 than this year. Depends on the style of the offense and with the D in transition...
I only wish I possessed the certainty of an mg.

For all the O-line panic in the past (including myself), it looks like we will have our stud OL to start week 1. Solder-Mankins-Connolly-Waters-Vollmer.

Before we ponder that, we've got to see him on the field first.

I don't even know if he's practiced yet, if he did it had to only be once or twice.

Is he eligible for in-season PUP or did he practice? If he isn't eligible then that will cetainly make for an interesting situation with the TE's.

The news about Volmer is HUGE. It really relieves a lot of the pressure on the OT position. We are in a much more flexible situation. Hopefully he'll be ready for some contact by the last preseason game.

Interesting question about what to do with the "other" 2 TE's (Sorry Tyler Urban). I can see them keep all 4, but if they do I doubt the Pats will keep a true FB, letting a TE line up there when necessary.

Another possible solution is to PUP Shancoe until mid season. By then the roster situation will have sorted itself out a bit and a lot of questions we have now will have been answered, so by week six we can bring back Shancoe and have a much better idea of who the right person is to release

....OR we can kick his sorry injured ass out the door. ;)

I don't know what to say about that Shiancoe money. Maybe that's a give away to what they really want to do.

I can't imagine keeping four, but I can't imagine letting any of them go at this point. Shiancoe seems like such excellent depth. Fells seems like he will extend Gronk's career if he can block that well. Weird times are coming for the FBs perhaps.

......"We're gonna need a bigger boat":yeahthat:

Shiancoe is not eligible for the PUP. He practiced once or twice.

Herr Vollmer kommt or Herr Vollmer wirt kommen

Add in "bald" for taste, which means soon.

Funny on the Dr. Fell reference, but I don't think I agree with the sentiment.

That's for sure. I had a roster of 59 without either a 4th TE or a 2nd returner.

But it's actually pretty imbalanced to have 5 WRs, 2 STers who also are WRs, and only 3 TEs, one of whom doesn't even stick strictly to his position.

Nein! Herr Vollmer ist gekommen or Herr Vollmer wird kommen. (Mike the German grammar Naz... , sorry, police)

This is fantastic news. No all we have to do is wait for JI to make excuses and call Vollmer a "bust", and I can get my weekly dose of comedy.
