I wonder with their next game being so close if this will be that game where Belichick decides to give Hoyer a chance to showcase his skills with the first team guys and see what he can do it would be in front of a national audience. As for me, I'd love to see him play with those guys against Philadelphia's 1st team defense. Would be great to see how he handles it.

I assume them not playing Monday night might have to do with the O line issues, can't get Brady killed before the games that count! Also, lets not try and pretend Brady looked good the series that he played last game. Hopefully he can get his timing down with his receivers before we get our hopes up for a SB season.

I think this has more to do with the 3 preseason games in 10 days than anything else. This Monday - Friday - Wednesday schedule is bizarre.

My guess is that the starting offense plays significant time in the Tampa Bay game and in neither of the of other two.

The backups get the work on Monday and for many it is a make or break, so they need to work as a unit heading into the Eagles game.

No need for them to play. Wait until week 1. Not worth the risk.

Time to audition for his next job...maybe if there's an injury we'll get an early draft pick and an extra player for the 53.

I have some concerns heading into the season, but "will Brady get his timing down with his receivers?" most definitely is not one of them.

No need at this stage in his career to throw him out there for all the preseason games. Come week 1 I gurantee TB will be ready to go.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!

Don't let "Incontinent Bob" hear this or he'll be tweeting the whole twitterverse that they're being banned from the main practice field for poor attitudes/play/whatever. They're all 3 gonna be traded, I tells ya!

Oh, haven't you heard already? We are looking for a possible 7th round pick for Brady. Need to let that liability go right away.

Let's not be silly now. They will see time in week 4.....look at past trends.

We have this debate EVERY YEAR and it always turns ou the same!!!!

He didn't look bad in the preseason game. All I saw was horrible blocking and two dropped passes. I hope he's playing on Monday night and not playing the last two games.

Sounds like we won't see much of these guys Monday night according to Nick Underhill:

Patriots training camp: Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Brandon Lloyd work out on separate field | masslive.com

I was at this practice and watched quite a bit of the action on the second field. Brady was really working Gronk hard. Yes, I am not a medical doctor, but for those interested I could see zero problems with Gronk's ankle, speed, or ability to make cuts. By the end you could tell he had had a good workout and was a bit winded but they finished up with a two-minute drill and Gronk went out and caught a perfectly thrown pass on a post pattern in the end zone for what would have been about a 45-yard TD.

Brady worked closely with Lloyd, talked to him quite a bit throughout their practice. I only noticed twice when they weren't quite on the same page: once from about fifteen yards away on a crossing pattern to the goal line where the pass was behind Lloyd (they talked for a couple minutes after that play), and one other time during a simulated hurry-up, two-minute type drill when Brady whistled a pass that nearly decapitated Lloyd on a quick slant that he clearly thought would be coming a second later. Other than those two plays they were in perfect unison throughout most of the afternoon.

The only other apparent misfire I missed while watching the action on the main field when after the play Brady punted the ball in what I'm guessing was a bit of frustration. Overall Brady seemed to push both players probably harder than any coach would have. By no means did their being on the other field mean that they were taking it easy.

Damn! Now jetsfans will want to sign Brady as a punter.

I read somewhere that Eagles were gonna play their 1st team into the 3rd qtr.

Pats go with Hoyer as a showcase and players that need experience and showcase what they can do to make the final 53.

Hope Brady gets a series or two in against a decent Philly team.

They'll want him to punt, throw and coach their back-up quality QBs. Given what they have, I don't blame em'.

I'm glad to hear Brady is getting on his WRs. It really helps the offense, I think. If only he had got on Ocho's case, instead of lying to him and saying he's doing a good job, he would've been a better receiver as well. I would love to see Brady playing til the 3rd quarter too, but it's not worth risking him to injury. Vick already broke his thumb playing one drive, I don't want that happening to Brady.
