Colts fans seem to have forgotten Peyton already

And I thought Jets Insider was the only fan forum to get good laughs.

I wonder what they'll think of Luck if the Colts go 3-13 as they did in Manning's rookie season?

I couldn't imagine laughing away what Tom Brady has done for the Patriots once he moves on. People; I love them.

If you think about it, the colts have had some of the best regular seasons to just fail in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if the fans had some kind of resentment towards peyton. And in many ways this is the best thing for the org. They have had some of the worst defenses, especialy run d, throughout the years and as long as peyton and polian were there they were never really going to fix it. And if I could see this of team i don't particularly like, I am pretty sure a colt fan does as well.

Let's see how they fare when opponents aren't playing a vanilla-D and are coming for blood. This is the pre-season.

You can't blame them for wanting to move forward. They've been waiting since January 2011 to see this (the last game Manning played as a Colt).

That said I hope they go 3-13 this year :)

Are you kidding? On this forum ive seen people blaming the Patriots "failures" on Brady. As if they would even be a playoff team without him.

Pay particular attention to the bolded portion of my initial comment. The same should apply for Manning at the Colts.

There is a segment of every fan base that is always longing for the greener grass. This place is no exception as some of the why not trade Brady threads that have been popping up here for 5 years already just underscore. Imagine what life would have been like for poor, downtrodden Coltsfans had they not drafted the forehead - because Polian was still going to be their GM and Irsay the owner and their fall entertainment alternative watching the corn harvest. At least Peyton made them relevant. And he did it basically starting from scratch. Luck is presently the beneficiary of that relevance. Let's see him equal let alone exceed it, 'cause if he doesn't they will turn on him a lot faster because they now feel entitled to. Will be the same deal for whomever follows Brady.

Yeah

A large part of the reason this happens is because in some games he was the problem.

Once one grasps this concept....2+2=4 can be accepted as reality, also.

Watched the game and the kid is impressive. Dolt fans have every right to be excited...they should be excited.

In the future, less time should be placed on post-TB concepts for reflextion on why patsfans.com has complained about all the Peyton excuse making and then does the exact same thing.

Ok. From now on no more excuses for the QB who merely led this team into half of the superbowls contested in the last decade. Patsfans deserve better d%#*!@t.

Needless to say, that "retort" from you is...well....less than suprising.

TB did not play well in last year's AFCCG. If you ever bothered to take the love blinders off, you might have noticed two bad INT's and a few badly over thrown sure TD's.

If you were awake, this also might have been obvious when we heard about poor QB play from....TB himself.

QB play was the only thing that kept that game from a blow out.

Players are human. It's pre-ordained that everyone will not be "peak" all the time. Understanding this basic concept of life prevents wasting time and energy of nonsense excuse making.

The end of football careers are with death and taxes. If the Patriots have the "second coming" post TB, the fan base should and most likely will be excited.

That doesn't dimish the accomplishments or reverance TB will have with the fanbase.

Peyton who? - Colts Football - Indianapolis Colts Fan Forum

Wow, its just one preseason game, and most of the fans seem to have begun their plans for New Orleans ......... lol ........ I hope Pats fans dont say Brady who when he retires............. I have no respect for colts fans lol......

I think that thread is intended more as a feel good optimism piece about Luck than a disrespect of Manning. They all still love Peyton and his cro magnon forehead.

One former Colt who does have a long memory is Polian. From MMQB

Bill can still get riled in a heartbeat. Just bring up the New England Patriots.

This part about rules changes concerning contact, effectively making the Tampa2 obsolete, oh the irony

"Tampa-2," a scheme predicated upon the strong safety disrupting receivers who are funneled toward the middle of the field by cornerbacks playing zone coverage on the outside. Many of the bone-jarring safety hits once allowed are now banned as the NFL has instituted rules to better protect pass catchers.

Are you drunk? 8-8. Think of the lesser draft pick.:)

What a strange way to describe the Tampa Two.

I would forget Peyton too. In fact, I'd trade Tom Brady for Andrew Luck right now!

To be fair, only the starter of that thread really says anything moronic. The rest seem to be excited about Luck (rightfully so) and not willing to disregard Manning.
