Undrafted FA RB's have made their mark in this league, just look over in Houston.

After seeing Bolden in camp today I will say this....

He will be our #1 Back by week 5 if he stays healthy.

I am going to pick him up on my FFL

I'm gonna be disappointed if Bolden doesn't make the final cut.......

But I'll bow to BB's expertise in which players will make this team better.

If he doesn't make the cut, hope he makes it to the PS :rocker:

Anyone bought tickets to his HOF induction ceremony yet?

Finding 1, or even a few that worked out is not a strong argument that a particular one will work out.

You can watch video of running backs and make up your own mind. I have been touting him for a while. Though Ridley and Vereen have potential, I don't think either really runs physical (Ridley being a nice deceptive slasher).

Bolden breaks tackles and hits people. There's an opening IMO. Could be competition with ridley, with Vereen being a receiver/runner, though we haven't seen enough to predict that.

After so many preseasons getting ready for breakout regular seasons by Sean Morey, Bam Childress or hell, even Devin Wyman I've learned to just wait to root for the actives on gameday.

Preseason hype will drive you crazy.

the notion of running back by committee is only feasible if a player does not step up for a feature back role.......if bolden provides that, he will be a feature back.

and by feature back, I mean someone who rushes for 1000 yards

Disagree. BB generally goes with a committee since 2006 because:

1. keeps guys fresher/uninjured
2. keeps guys from amassing huge stats which jacks up their value at contract time.

That doesn't mean each back will get 100 carries on the year, it means that the difference between the leading yardage back and the 4th highest guy will be less than most teams.

I don't see why it's Bolden or Larsen? I see 5 RB/FB's - room for both.

I hear they are already working on the 30 for 30. Nobody gave him a chance...

Because Hernandez is our true 5th RB ;) and a 6th would need to be a ST rock-star.

Sean Morey made a nice career for himself. The other two... well, not so much.

I'd consider taking Bolden over Larsen.

Don't see why they can't both be on the final roster.
Ridley-Vereen-Woodhead-Bolden-Larsen is what I'd like to see personally.

One of Bill's few mistakes regarding players already on the Pats' roster was releasing Morey.
Considering the crap-fest we endured at WR during 2000-01 (excluding Troy Brown), I feel it safe
to ass-ume that Morey would've found a role here, both on offense & on STs.

Or R/V/W/B-Kettani. :)

And also he doesn't have a great RB like Corey Dillon.

Considering the excitement, I'm guessing that Ridley, Vereen, and Bolden are all cut before the season. Pats will use a bunch of street free agents, similar to the safety situation last year.

Has any reporter mentioned anything about Ridley in regards to fumbling yet? (positive or negative)

It's been positive. Some report mentioned that he hasn't dropped a ball in camp so far.

Crazy talk. Just watch, if he's healthy, Woodhead will get the most looks -- which is already happening. He's the most talented of that group by a considerable margin.

The guy is a freak athlete, a gadget back. Teams learnt how to defend him last season. Not a feature back given his size.

I think Woodhead could stick...but 4 RBs and a FB could be a little too heavy though. They only carried four backs under McD in 2007 through the duration including Evans at FB...they did the same thing in 2008. We know McD likes the FB to feature in his offence so one is almost certainly a lock.

Bolden is turning heads and Vereen by all accounts is turning heads also and could do Woodhead's job to equal or even a higher standard to what he achieved in 2010.

Guess what, that makes Woody expendable!
