Eli's Giants have beaten the Pats the last 3x they've played, and twice ended our Super Bowl dreams. Eli's a goofy looking guy, but in the clutch no one has been better the last few years.

I mean how do you throw the ball to a ball hawking corner and get away with it?

But we've been on the right side of that tinkering too. Obviously Brady in the snow, Kasay with the blown kick, and Patten going unconscious with one foot out of bounds. There's a time to give and a time to receive.

You only really need to know which time it is when you have bet your farm.

I agree with the point of this thread. There is a fine line between "elite" and being on the right side of luck. Obviously I'm biased, but to me Eli has done nothing to show that he's not the latter. When he wins the Super Bowl without an impossible catch on a game-winning drive, I may reconsider. Alternately, if he puts up elite numbers for the first time in his career that may work for me too.

But you wouldn't be saying that if Samuel had not dropped the ball. The throw was atrocious. He threw a stink bomb in the biggest drive of his life and he got away with it.

To say that Eli's sucess is attributed to being on the right side of luck is silly. Its ok to be bitter but look at the big picture.

Eli is not a statistically elite QB but hes had not one but TWO game winning championship drives.

Brady was not a statistically elite QB when he won 3 SBs and had two GW drives.

I couldn't care less about statically elite QBs. Lombardi's are all that matter. Big plays at the right time.

If my team was down 21-17 in the SB, I would feel pretty good with Eli as my QB over 28 other QBs.

Thats all that matters.

i have more reason to hate eli than anyone here, but i simply stopped doing it when he proved he belonged , and when he proved how clutch he was

sure he hasn't always looked great, or even good in his career, and his lifetime numbers aren't stellar

but he turned a corner very rappidly from middle of the pack to elite, and for that, i gotta recognize him as such, and as much as i truely want to hate him, aside from his piece of **** father, he seems like a decent fellow, and a good team leader, not a vocal leader or a rah rah brees type, but he seems like he has a quiet determination about him and he seems like he no longer gets ruffled

i used to think of him as an emotionless robot who looked like he didn't even enjoy playing the game, but i think that's just how he is, and now it's surely working for him

he's not the model of consistency over his career that others have been, but he has turned that ******* corner big time, and the season he had last year was pretty amazing

that's not an unfair point, but go back and watch the sb where the 49ers put a last second drive on the bengals, and montana throws a game winner to john taylor

go watch the final drive, because montana throws a pass right into the chest of a bengals LB and the bengals LB drops it.......
